The service and atmosphere were great. The seaweed salad was seasoned well. The sushi, however, was horrible. I hate to say this, but the sushi was basically cat food. It smelled and looked like cat food. When I think Sushi, I think sliced tuna… not ground up tuna! I don’t have a clue what the cucumber garnish is about? The texture of that roll was really bad. Again, the service was great, and the restaurant was clean, but
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SUSHI.

Once I walked in thr restaurant it already felt very authentic. The aroma of food smelt wonderful, I was practically drooling over the smell. The atmosphere felt very peaceful, it was loud, but quite, it was just the right amount a noise. The service was wonderful! Once a stepped in the restaurants I was immediately sat down at a table! They also had tons of seating areas! The staff were also kind to my little one! The miso soup tasted like a burst of rainbows exploding in my mouth. Most of their food choices were big enough for a whole family to share. Their sushi tasted phenomenal ! I loved how they had so many choices for almost everything. My son loved the egg drop soup! (He’s a big fan of that soup!) I was really surprised that they had salads here! The Wild Ginger Fried Rice was so tasty, honestly when I read the description it just sounded okay, but when I had it, it just tasted so good there’s no way to describe the amount of flavor I tasted. My husband got the Traditional Fried Rice, which was prepared beautifully. Overall l, this place is a solid 5 .

Our visit began with a short trek from the parking lot in the rear of the building to the front entrance. Along the way, weeds were growing high. Inside, we received a friendly greeting and were taken to a booth in front of a window. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, but the low lighting seemed out of place in the afternoon. The food was good. To start, we ordered tuna tartare, which was served between creamy avocado and crunchy caviar. Lunch was a generous portion of level 5 heat green curry shrimp.

First off my chicken as you can see in the photo below is undercooked. Still had blood in the center. The sushi was mushy. The fried rice tasted bland and not even fried lol. This place is a no go for take out guys. Me and my wife wasted almost 100 dollars worth of food. And to top it off my wife even got nausea only 35 minutes later of eating the food and I had bad stomach bowel movements for the past 2 hours.

Five stars for Wild Ginger’s delicious Thai food! This was our favorite lunch spot when we worked in Hyde Park for a while. The pho is the most flavorful I’ve had, and the curry vegetables are always cooked just enough to be crisp but not too crunchy.

BEST miso soup we have ever had…so hearty! We came with the intentions of getting sushi but were swayed to spicy scallop stir fry, which we shared. The pot stickers were very tasty. The brown rice was wonderful and the sauce on the vegetables was great. We only had good things to say. They were very busy so I would recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekend. The tables were a bit tight together, and the service a bit slow, but the awesome food made up for it.

I have been a fan of wild ginger for YEARS!! I used to love their Pho and other dishes. Recently, it had felt their quality has gone down. I tried their shrimp pad Thai and I did not like the taste, the shrimp also was so overcooked that they were falling apart. I just got their shrimp pho for takeout, my favorite item…and I’m disappointed. The shrimp look smaller and are overcooked and there’s no flavor in the broth. Disappointing because I love wild ginger.
The photo on the left is what their Pho used to be, the one on the right shows how mangled and overcooked the shrimp is.

Got pho to go. Noodles were separate in a box. With my bean sprouts, there was no cilantro, no basil, no basil, no hoison sauce, lemon slice instead of lime. I thought, apparently they don’t know what pho is. However, the broth was actually very flavorful. Still don’t like the block of noodles in a box and lack of garnishments/ condiments… I can’t say that I’d go back, but it somewhat suited my pho craving.

We sat in the back room behind the hibachi tables. We had a large group, on a Busy Saturday night, but that didn’t affect the fabulous service we received. The Mango Yellow Curry with Shrimp, was by far the best curry we’ve ever had.
The sushi and sashimi was bright, very fresh and presented beautifully. Mango stir fry with chicken, pickled cucumbers was the perfect summer dish. Lite and vibrant, not heavy on the tummy. If you’re in the area you can’t go wrong!
