Group of friends were in Douglas / Saugatuck for the weekend and Wild Dog is a standout. Our server, Loriana, was great. She made sure to let us know items that were out as today was last day for the season. There were some bigger parties that sat just after us and she made sure to stop by to get apps in at least in case kitchen got busy. All the food was amazing and full of flavor. The pork chop was delicious. The salmon was tasty and complemented the potato puree so well. The chicken piccata was perfectly salted and full of flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly and also full of flavor. The tagliatelle was great. Definitely a place to check out if visiting the area.

What a wonderful restaurant in the heart of town. We tried many different dishes and all of them were creative and full of flavor. We started with the meatballs which were perfectly cooked, juicy and well sauced. For mains we had the hamburger and Porchetta sandwich. While both were good the Porchetta was mind blowingly good. I mean run don’t walk to get this sandwich. Highly recommend!

I would like to preface this review with we went to McDonald’s after dinner here. The appetizer of zucchini flowers was..interesting. Not bad but lacking in flavor. If you’re a fan of straight lemon juice concentrate then the grouper is for you. The steak frites were embarrassing. The most delectable part of this meal were the frozen french fries that came with the steak. It’s disheartening to write this review, we were looking forward to this experience and were more than let down. If you want good food that’s worth the price go to Everyday People Cafe, Borrowed Time or any restaurant in Saugatuck. Will not recommend or return.

AVERAGE AT BEST. Wild Dog is so aesthetically pretty, our cocktails were good (not great) and our waitress was very kind/good. However, the food was so BLAH. My friend got Pappardelle and added the meatballs. Thank God she added the meatballs otherwise she would be starving bc the portions were so small for the $32 dish. The red sauce was floral in flavor. I had the Chicken Piccata (gluten free) and it was flavorless. The Noodles were in a “soup” and they gave me a fork. The chicken was blah. And it was $5 extra for the gluten free pasta (ridiculous) and $1.50 extra if I wanted Parmesan cheese (what???). We spent $101 on 2 dishes and 2 drinks and it was the most boring meal ever. Highly disappointed and would not return.

we ate at Wild Dog 4 times this summer and had a fantastic experience every time. the chicken piccata is the best anywhere, the pork chop is outstanding, and the salmon delicious. 3 out of 4 times the service was perfect. the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. The chef is amazing.

We love Donna! This place is great and the ambiance in the dog friendly patio was perfect. Food was all but the Mediterranean pizza was our favorite. Cash the dog’s favorite was the steak tartare, the duck confit, the meatballs, and also the Mediterranean pizza. Desserts were fire, we got the peach/apple crumble dish, can’t recall the name (but see pic) – ask Donna! The staff were all very engaged and helpful and the interior was smart, we had a great experience all around, Cash approved!

Been wanting to check out the new menu (new owners and management) and could not have been more disappointed in the food. The gazpacho was bland and uninspired – tasted like it came out of a can. The steak frites were served overdone, mostly gristle and cold. Even the fries were stale and I suspect frozen from a bag. Nothing tasted fresh really. (Note – server acknowledged the quality of the steak and removed that entree from the bill)

Our first visit to Wild Dog Grille was a positive one! Stellar service from their entire team. Our waitress had great recommendations and shared her thoughts; much appreciated. The signature mixed drinks were delightful as were the appetizers and entrees. We will be back!

Our experience at Wild Dog couldn’t have been more of a let down. From the moment we arrived to check in for our reservation, the Host sneered at our two children while informing us that they could not honor our patio reservation because it is reserved for guests 12 and over. No big deal – we rolled with it, including the rude way he chose to communicate the policy to us. After being seated, we immediately ordered drinks and entrees for our kids. Seventy (70) minutes later, we flagged our waitress down to ask for refills because we hadn’t been checked on and inquired about the status of our kids’ dinners. During that time two tables of families seated after us had come and left in disgust for the service and wait times. My husband and I were determined to try to enjoy a night out and a nice meal so we tried to be patient and wait. After 80 minutes, our kids’ meals arrived without an apology or acknowledgement of the wait and about 15 minutes after that our entrees. Our drinks were constantly empty and the food was fine, but not worth the wait, cost, or treatment. This was a Wednesday evening so not a busy night compared to weekends and the restaurant was not full. We frequent Douglas/Saugatuck a lot and will be permanently removing Wild Dog from our restaurant list and not referring to friends. I would only recommend this place if your sans kids and not in a hurry while not minding to overpay for average food and cocktails. Severely disappointed.

Stopped in for dinner on a girls’ weekend. The food was delicious, and service was attentive and friendly. I had the pizza and it was great, and one of my friends said the beet salad was the most amazing thing she’s had in awhile. We loved the outdoor seating area, and the atmosphere overall.
