A friend strongly recommended this place to me, saying it’s her favorite way to eat seafood in Chicago. After trying it, I can see why.
The style here is Louisiana Cajun seafood boil — everything comes tossed in a flavorful garlic butter sauce. It actually reminded me a bit of the American version of spicy crawfish.
We ordered one of the combos, which came with crawfish, large shrimp, king crab legs, corn, and potatoes. The seafood was surprisingly tender across the board. The king crab legs were especially impressive — huge and very meaty.
What really stood out was the sauce. The garlic butter and spices soak into everything, making each bite really flavorful.
At the end we mixed the remaining sauce with some sour pasta, and it was honestly amazing. The sauce was so good that we didn’t want to waste a drop.
If you like Cajun seafood boils or garlic-butter style seafood, this place is definitely worth trying.

The Wild Crab Boil absolutely delivers when it comes to flavor and overall experience. The seafood boil was outstanding, perfectly seasoned, fresh, and cooked just right. Every bite was messy in the best way, packed with bold spices and rich flavor. Portions were generous, and the fun, lively vibe made it a really satisfying meal.
The only downside was the fried calamari and French fries, which didn’t quite measure up to the rest of the food and were just okay. That said, the seafood boil alone is more than enough reason to come back. We also tried the rolled ice cream, which was delicious and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. On top of that, the service was excellent, friendly, and attentive. If seafood boils are your thing, this place is definitely worth a visit!

We recently moved to the area & have been craving a seafood boil. We decided to go to this place on a whim for our date night. We are so glad that we did!! I had easy peel shrimp, snow crab legs, potato, eggs, and corn. Their seasoning was great. I had the hot level & it was just the right kick! Don’t let the picture fool you, it had lots of seasoning & sauce on the bottom!
We even took some ice cream roll to go. We will definitely come back! The staff was so friendly and welcoming.

Wild Crab Boil is a small business that may not impress with its decor, but it is not bad. We opted for combo D and some chicken wings and rolled ice cream for a total of $226, which generously fed five of us. The taste was good, but not outstanding. The shellfish, while tasty, was slightly overdone and chewy, a minor drawback. Kids seemed to enjoy the ice cream as well, it’s rolled so a pretty cool concept.
The prices might be a bit on the high side given the quality, but the experience is fun and reminds me of the south. If you’re willing to overlook the basic decor, Wild Crab Boil is worth a try. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most unassuming places can surprise you. Give it a go if you enjoy seafood and eating with your hands!

This is how we end each year! We pick up to enjoy at home and to be safe on amateur night, therefore I can’t tell you about the service. As for as the atmosphere, the place looks nicer than where they were in McHenry.

This had to be THE WORST BOIL I’ve ever had.The blue crab meat was mush, the sausage was soft, it taste like it was sitting in water for days. The JUICE was terrible, not like other places where it sticks to the food. It had no flavor. The mussels were huge and rubbery as we’re the shrimp, were overcooked, and the fried oyster were ok, they came from Sams Club. I usually go to Evanston to The Boiler, now that’s how it’s done, along with the Angry Crab and The Mad Crab. But I guess I should’ve none it was gonna be terrible when the place was empty on a Friday..BUT the king crab was good. And we got our food to go.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit. Upon arriving, I was met with unprofessional and discourteous behavior from the front desk hostess. She did not greet me properly, failed to take my drink order, and did not check on my table at any point during my visit.
After waiting approximately 40 minutes for a new pair of gloves, I noticed she had gone to the back of the restaurant and did not return for quite some time. When she eventually came back, I expressed my frustration about the long wait and the fact that my food had gone cold. Her response was, “What do you want? An apology?” She then assumed I was asking for a discount and brought my check while I was still eating.
When I requested to speak with a manager, she claimed to be both the manager and the owner. Another manager later approached me, was very professional, and apologized for the poor experience. However, the hostess returned shortly afterward and aggressively slammed a menu holder onto the floor near me, which was both unprofessional and unsettling.
This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this establishment based on the conduct I witnessed. I hope this matter is addressed appropriately so that future guests do not have a similar experience.
