When I first arrived, there was a person standing outside the door and he opened the door for me very friendly and welcoming. Once I enter the door inside the atmosphere Seem under managed. The whole decor seemed rushed and not done by professionals Once upside down, I was greeted by the server she was polite. She took my order and when my food arrive, it just looked mediocre, rushed and not done by a professional. I ordered two slider burgers, half of an ear of corn with it didn’t have any butter on it and the corn looked old so I sent the corn back and told her I needed to replace it with cabbage. I also ordered 10 chicken wings five of which were tossed in a watermelon sauce supposedly But it seemed more like watermelon juice poured over unseasoned chicken wings. The other five were garlic butter. They were OK but again the wing itself was not seasoned, and the sauce was just poured on it on it. I also ordered a mocktail that was delicious. That was the best thing that I had the french fries were old saturated with Greece did not cook correctly. The cabbage was under season just tasted like I was eating water. The burger was not seasoned well. The bread itself was just a roll cut open, not heated not butter. Just a Hawaiian roll with a burger stuck inside of it. The overall price for this meal was $33 mind you the chicken wings were tiny. I went to the restroom to wash my hands, and when I walked in, there was a smear of not so chocolatey Brown hand prints all over the bathroom stall door. These smears were old not fresh. The bathroom was not clean at all dirty and nasty inside. I do not recommend this place and I think a health inspector should come and check it out

I saw post of this restaurant on facebook and me and my son had to stop by for ourselves, I ordered Salmon and he ordered a cheese burger kids meal, I normally don’t eat Brussel sprouts but I end up trying it out with the salmon and it was great! I also like how the salmon comes with Brussel sprouts and rice but I had the option of taking them off. My waitress was very nice and attentive. I would definitely give them a 5/5 and if you’re ever in Jacksonville you should stop by.

I had heard this place had recently opened, so I decided to stop by. I was seated immediately, and the staff was wonderful. The building itself seems to still be a work in progress, as they were making adjustments while I was eating.
As for the food, it was a mixed experience. I ordered the chicken wings, which took quite a while to arrive. While waiting, I was given a bread roll that appeared to be a frozen Hawaiian dinner roll—it was still so cold that it clinked against the plate.
When the chicken wings finally arrived, they were excellent: perfectly cooked, well-seasoned with garlic and parmesan, and overall very tasty. However, the dessert was a disappointment. I ordered a peach dessert that was frozen solid—essentially an ice hockey puck. I had to saw at it with a knife and nearly risked breaking the plate. Unfortunately, it tasted freezer-burned.
The menu is limited, and of what I tried, the chicken wings were the only item I would recommend. They came with carrot sticks and a side of ranch.

I’m not gonna lie the last couple times I have been here. The food was not that great, but I don’t know who they had in the kitchen This past weekend, but keep them. Everything was great when I came to the paint and sip on Friday the fried shrimp was Golden perfection then I decided to come to for brunch and that Cajun sauce OMG continue of the good work. I definitely will be back again.

Our first experience at Ace of Spades gets 5 stars. The service and friendliness of the stuff showed great southern hospitality. The food was on point. I never liked fried shrimp till I tried it there. Can’t wait to go back and order it again. Love that its family owned, the hard work shows. I definitely recommend you try this place. soul food is good for the soul.
