Nice hometown cafe with local meats and products. Vintage soda fountain shop atmosphere. Burgers and Ranch fries were really good. Mac&Cheese probably shouldn’t have been served. A nice little dinner find while out adventuring. Will need to go back in the daylight and try coffee and breakfast.

On a road trip of over 3,000 miles, this little gem of a place was a highlight of the trip. Fresh ingredients, amazing burger, friendly staff, and an owner who clearly cares about her business (we spoke briefly). Prices were very reasonable given the quality of food.
The burger was prepared exactly to order with an artisan bun, super delicious.
I rarely order soda but a coke with the burger sounded so good and even there the taste was exemplary. Not everyone understands even a fountain drink can taste fresh or stale.
Sadly, there is so much mediocrity in food at similar prices. I hope the Wholly Cow influences other food establishments in the region.

If you find yourself in Stanton County Kansas, and not already in Johnson City, then take the time to go find this hidden gem. The owners have taken an area landmark and turned it into something that will be worth your time to check out. They have paired an amazing menu with the original soda fountain that is still in operation. You can even purchase meat right in the store, homegrown by the owners of the establishment. It can also be ordered on the Internet and shipped to you. Word of warning, when you eat in the restaurant bring your appetite, you’ll need it.

I do have to say that I have finally found my favorite spot since moving to KS. This is the hidden gem. I’ve drove by this place so many times and finally tried it. The food was amazing and the hospitality was just as good. It was definitely worth the drive!

My sister, friend & I stopped here last year in our yearly road trip. What a great find !!! Everything was great!! This year we wanted our route back to SC to go through Johnson so we could have lunch here again. Burgers are great!! Fried okra onion rings & sweet potatoes. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Hopefully are travels will bring us this way again. Check it out !!

I absolutely love getting all of my meats for the month from this store! From ground beef to chicken breasts, steaks, and hot dogs, their quality is unbeatable. I no longer buy meat from the grocery store, and it’s such a relief to know I’m providing healthier products for my family. I appreciate that I can order enough meat for an entire month and conveniently store it in my regular fridge/freezer inside the kitchen. It’s a great feeling knowing that my family is eating better and feeling healthier because of it!

My grass-fed meat order just arrived. I am impressed with the shipping techniques. I’ve ordered a lot of meat from companies and farmers, and your chilling methods are the best. The meat was sent four days ago and arrived frozen/chilled. Additionally, I appreciate that all the packing materials are non-toxic/ biodegradable. As someone who needs to carefully source my meat to keep my autoimmune disorder at bay, I’ll be ordering more in the future from you.

We had to do both. The breakfast sandwiches were so good. Check them out in Wichita on the west side.
