Whit’s has a very good frozen custard; however, unless you’re just getting plain custard, they fall flat everywhere else.
When getting a sundae or Whitzer etc….. you can expect very little toppings or sauces. I don’t know why, they definitely charge enough. We just bought a hot fudge sundae, strawberry sundae and a cone in a cup with caramel and nuts. The sundaes literally had a tablespoon of sauces. The cone in a cup had more caramel sauce, but only about 3 peanuts on top.
I could see this place really hurting if Culver’s comes to Ashland. As it is, we’re done with Whit’s. Culver’s in Ontario is so much better and worth the drive!

WV Almost Heaven (Montani Semper Liberi)
Great frozen custard as good if not better than the WI based franchise. We also had hot dogs. The hot sauce (chili) was perfect as was the Slaw Dogs. They have their own bottled recipe for Root Beer & Orange soda (see pictures) the root beer was great the orange soda was too sweet and . . . meh. They also have frozen custard cakes and dipped custard on a stick. All in all a good time was had by all. NOTE: Indoor seating capacity=16. Outdoor seating capacity approximately 12 (via 2 picnic tables). Outdoor seating is covered.

This is a little gem!
Never having tasted frozen custard (or as we renamed it “fro-tard”) we knew we had to stop in to try it.
And we weren’t disappointed much smoother that ice cream, this has a almost a velvety texture and is so heavenly rich.
We all loved our desserts!
We’ll be back for sure, next time we’re visiting AU.

Whits frozen custard in my opinion is the best I’ve had in Ashland Ohio sofar. I went in thinking about getting a usual sundae but there must have been 12 speciality sundaes .
I had one called Hawaiian Lau’h bananas,pineapple,toasted coconut & macadamia nuts WOW . I about licked the dush out.

This was my first time visiting because I wasn’t sure what custard was like. Now I know and I will be back! I had the Ashland Ruby (chocolate, Raspberry and macadamia nuts) and it was delicious! I took my dog for her birthday and they gave her a nice little cup with a milk bone on top- she loved it! Great service too!

Whit’s frozen custard is as good as it gets, and the Ashland location is no exception. But, in addition to great custard, they have a small, but excellent menu of other items, including great hot dogs. What really sets this location apart is their service. I can’t say enough about the quality of the staff. I don’t know the people who work there and I don’t live in the area, but when I stopped by while on a short road trip, I was overwhelmed by the friendly, professional staff. If you like ice cream, and you’re in the Ashland area, you should make it a point to stop in. You will thank me later :).

I absolutely love Whits but here recently it has not been the same. We always get whitsers and the last few time (which has been over the least 6 months or so) our whitsers only have tipping at the top. Could you please remind your staff to mix all the way through the cup. Again I love whits and it will always be my favorite frozen treat but when I pay that kind of money I would like to get what is expected.
