Friday supper time brings me to the Whit’s End Grill & Bar Family Restaurant on Madison Ave. in Skowhegan. Was graving a burger! This is their classic burger with homemade chips. Bacon and cheese were add ons and comes with a spear pickle. Washed it down with a ginger ale. Great food presentation! Friendly welcoming staff. The booths are comfortable and the woodwork amazing. The food and service was very good, thank you!

My wife had a seafood combo (Taste of Maine) and it was generous and delicious. The lobster roll and crab cake were ample and full of flavor. The salad was well prepared with lots of fresh ingredients. I had a very satisfactory classic burger surrounded by house made chips and a delicious cole slaw. Very satisfied with my first visit here. Prompt service, great food and a reasonable price. Will come back soon.

If you haven’t been, go. Quaint little place with a friendly, accommodating staff! They closed at 8pm.. Thursday evening. We showed up at 6:15pm. There were 8 in our group. They set up a table, we had one wonderful waitress. We weren’t rushed, she was friendly and attentive. The facilities were very clean and the did, even though they had run out of a few things, like mushrooms and fish chowder but that was ok. We were informed prior to ordering and they modified the dish if it was missing the ingredient.

First time here and absolutely blown away! We stopped by at 730 Friday night and the place was packed. They said it might be a wait due to staffing but it was less than 5 minutes! Let’s start with the staff, absolutely amazing, everyone was super pleasant and moving like they were on fire! My wife had a salad and Mac and cheese that was excellent. I had the smoked in house pulled pork, I have never had smoked bbq pork that great! Not fatty, not hiding in bbq sauce. Dry rubbed , moist, and an amazing flavor, topped with homemade onion rings cheese and served with homemade chips and a pickle! We were not rushed and I resto say again awesome staff, awesome service! We will be back!

Many people have told me the service here isn’t great, but I’ve never had that experience. Certain dishes on the menu are truly excellent, like the bacon wrapped scallops and all of the salads, I absolutely love the one with berries and chicken. I also think the fried seafood is very, very good. The steak can be hit or miss. Overall, I really enjoy eating here.

Went there the other night with a party of 8 people. Waitress was super friendly and an excellent server. No complaints from anyone in the party except for the vinegar being a little too heavy on the pickled beets. I had the chicken stir fry; the vegetables were fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend.
