Been a long time since last eating here but even better than I remember. Lots of seating, plenty of space. Great vibe on the patio, inside looked the same as I remember, at bit dated looking at this point. But patio was great. Excellent food. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. The smoked fish dip was phenomenal. Nice cornmeal coating on the catfish rather than flour. Need to go out of my way to come back sooner.

I met my future daughter-in-law!

Our server Brooklyn was an absolute gem — warm, funny, and on top of everything. This was my first dining experience in Jacksonville, and honestly, it set the bar high.

The entire team was fantastic — from the host to Brooklyn’s mom Amy (yes, I met my future in-laws!), to the rest of the staff who were all super friendly and welcoming.

The vibe is pure Gilligan’s Island charm — laid-back, beachy, and full of personality. As a Boston guy now living in LA, this Florida-style “dockside dive” was a fun change of pace.

Food highlights: the shrimp bisque (creamy, buttery perfection) and the white wine cream pasta, which was so good I’m still craving it days later.

If you want great food, great service, and genuine Southern hospitality — this spot is a must.
And Brooklyn… I’ll be back with my sons. You can take your pick.

We have been here multi times. Food is amazing. You get alot of food for your money. The service was horrible. We got a seat right away. Tooks us 30 mins to get a drink order. Then 30 mins to get our starters and then we never seen our waitress. We complained about our service being horrible she couldnt serve more than 2 table. It was way to much for her. So they switched out waitress and after that it was amazing from there. Needless to say we got there at 630 and left at 930. Just HORRIBLE.
If you like not being check on or in a rush this is your place.

My wife and I ate there over the weekend and we enjoyed it. We did sit inside, but really like the outdoor area as well. I had the one of the combos with coleslaw and grits and it was great. The hush puppies were fantastic, crispy on the outside and just right on the inside. My wife had the blackened salmon and Mahi and it was good as well, her Mahi was a little dry. She had the sweet potato fries and they were fantastic as well.

I am updating my review. I had been there several times during the week, and everything was great – good views, good vibe, good service, good food. But I went on a weekend and had to wait an hour for my food and never did get it. But they did the right thing and waived my bill. So I am giving a middle grade for now, hoping this was a one-off event

If you like fried food, than its your place. For me its a red flag. Food was too salty, pretty much everything is fried, not a lot of healthy options. But people like the place, it was crowded.
Yeah I was invited to visit this place by my friend’s, won’t go by my choice.

Whitey’s Fish Camp is a perfect little gem that you must stop and enjoy. Perfect atmosphere, perfectly timed beverages and food! There are so many menu selections that it’s hard to choose… but no worries, we’ll be back again and again. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. You deserve it!

Not our first visit here. On busy nights parking can be tricky. They have a lot of space here. You can sit by a live band in the outside area or indoors to going all the way outside next to the water on the dock.

The food is always cooked hot and fresh. My only complaint is the fish selection. Catfish or Pollack. Really? Pollack is cheap man’s fish and not a local catch. Has to be shipped in frozen. How about some trout, flounder, snapper, or some fresh grouper on the menu? In fairness they do serve Mahi and Salmon but it’s served individually.

For heaven’s sake you have a business in Florida! Have a better selection of fish!

Our servers have always been very attentive as long as they’re not shorthanded.

We shared a platter for one and got an extra side. Love their Cole slaw.

The Greens and green beans were prepared by someone who tastes food as it’s being made. The mahi taste delicious yet mildly overcooked. Overall the menu looks a little overpriced. Our final tab was $104 including a more than generous tip to our waitress.
