The White Rose Diner, located off of Woodbridge Ave, is a convenient spot for anyone who wants to stop for a quick bite on a commute home from work at any time of the day. The White Rose, which is open 24 hours a day 6 days a week, is a great place to enjoy a meal with friends and get transported to a classic diner. Myself and three friends visited at 3:30pm on a Wednesday and there were a few people there as it was between lunch and dinner. We waited at most five minutes for our food, and I waited the longest in my party because fish takes a while to make. I got a fish sandwich, fries, and a milkshake and I paid $20.15 for my meal, including a 20% tip. The men behind the counter were friendly and thanked me for tipping. Everything was clean and all of the walls were decorated with vintage posters and signs which added to the atmosphere and history of this vintage diner. There are plenty of vegetarian options and the menu allows for a lot of customization since main and side dishes are ordered separately (minus the meal combos). Overall, the White Rose is a great place that I would recommend visiting if you want to experience a classic New Jersey diner.

White Rose Hamburgers is a very convenient diner that has the classic New Jersey diner aesthetic while making your food extraordinarily quick and being very affordable. I ordered a double cheeseburger for $7.49 that was $9.15 after tip. The food was prepared in less than a minute, and was cooked very well and was pretty big for the price. The inside of the diner is very well upkept and decorated with 1960’s decals and old newspaper headlines that give the diner an old-fashioned style. The staff were all very nice and tentative in taking and making my order. I went at around 2pm and the diner was not very busy with only a couple other customers. As a small diner it only fits about 15 people at a maximum, so it has a very traditional start-up diner vibe. I would recommend the diner for anyone in the area looking for a quick bite to eat, or anyone looking to expose themselves to New Jersey’s history of diners.

Stopped by with some co-workers. Had the cheeseburger with fries. The cheeseburger burger was good and the fries were cooked to perfection. The food came out quickly and the service was great and the prices were beyond reasonable. Definitely a must try!!

Today, I had the pleasure of visiting this cozy little diner located on the corner of Woodbridge Ave and Karsey Street in Highland Park, NJ. I went around 2:08 AM with a friend after a long day of classes and studying— a good move for a quick bite during a slower hour for this 24-hour joint. We found a parking in there small lot out front. Although the outside of the diner has few signs to indicate it, the inside of White Rose screams 1950s vintage diner, with its bright red stools, stainless steel interior and decor dedicated to the diner culture. The interior was also very clean and bright. There’s plenty of outdoor seating for the warmer weather too. The compact layout allows you to fully experience your meal through the sounds and smells coming from the grill across the front counter. You simply cannot beat the low prices here— a combo ranges from just $12-$14!
We only waited a few minutes before settling on burgers, a side and a soda. I got a regular bacon burger with a side of onion rings, while my friend ordered their Cali Burger (shredded lettuce, tomato, diced onion, and mayo) with cheese. All of their burgers seemed to be cooked with diced onion, which are deliciously embedded in the burger patty. My favorite part was that each burger came with a side of pickle chips, which is arguably the best form to receive pickles in. I was surprised that our food was hot and ready within 5 minutes of ordering.
There was a small miscommunication that ended up with us paying for another burger, but it worked out in the end when I realized a bacon burger only comes with bacon and diced onions, so I just placed my bacon on a Cali Burger and my friend took the extra patty. The burger was fresh, savory and the minor mistake on my part only meant more pickles for me! I had my heart set on ordering one of their milkshakes because the man ahead of us said they were “the best around”, but sadly I was too full by the end of my meal to order anything else. I’ll definitely come back sometime soon for a classic combo value meal and a coffee shake!

My dad, brother, and I visited White Rose Hamburgers on April 13 around 7 P.M. The service was fast, the guys behind the counter friendly, and the restaurant small, clean, and set in a cool throwback environment.
When you walk into the White Rose, it feels like stepping back in time. Not only does the simple building look exactly how you picture a vintage diner like it is, with stools around the counter and windows serving as the only seating and a small, simple menu consisting of mostly hamburgers and eggs, but their prices feel out of a distant era. I ordered (and recommend) their signature cheeseburger, which came with their better-than-White Castle onion topping, ketchup, and pickles for $6.25. My dad got the bacon cheeseburger ($7.35), and my brother the grilled cheese ($4.75) and an order of cheese fries ($4.35). All of it was super simple, cheap, and delicious. My brother, a grilled cheese expert, said it was a perfectly melted grilled cheese, and my burger was the definition of classic. If you’re expecting something fancy or complex, you’re in the wrong spot. If you’re looking for a quick (we got our food less than 4 minutes from ordering during a decently crowded Sunday evening with about 10-12 others in the restaurant) and tasty bite, I’d recommend it. The parking out front is ample, so bring a friend and enjoy an awesome vintage New Jersey diner.

I have heard good things about White Rose Hamburgers over the years. I don’t know if I caught them on a bad day, but I don’t get it. Yes the service is friendly and fast, my double cheeseburger came out in under 30 seconds. That’s because the burger is precooked and kept in a warming tray, so the burger is only warm and not juicy at all. The onions mixed into the patty give it some flavor, but that’s about it. The bun is a huge thick roll, so if you want to taste the meat, get a double as the Bun easily overwhelms the meat. The bun also tasted like it was yesterday’s roll. I also ordered the chili cheese fries which came out fast and were good. The nostalgia of the place is cool and I love the old style diners. However I don’t think I will make another visit, they are in the same league as a White Mana or Hirams. Lastly, the bathroom is Disgusting with a capital D and it’s only 1130am on a Thursday….

Y’all lacking for years. I have thousands spent over 35 years of buying from you. Walked in today for a 75 cent mini nacho cheese cup!!! Mini!!! Lil nacho cheese. /would have loved a burger with the quality I was used to when I was younger, when people smoked cigs inside..yeah that’s how long the owners been racking in cash and lowering their standard of ingredients. It’s been getting worse year by year, quality of food, isn’t something a local go to spot? should compromise? I’m disappointed with the owners for their lack of quality ingredients, and the attitude of your new hires. I’ve let so many accidental orders go uncorrected over the years, because I respected my local joint. However when I pulled up for a tiny item they tried to over charge me. 75cent goes up to 1.35 ??? Oh and btw, when I tried to eat your simple burger and fries about a year ago, I threw in thrash after one bite, along with god knows what you changed in the fries. I’m really sad to leave this review, but your new greasy hair secretary, belongs in a vape shop at best.

I was really hoping to love this place. No seasoning on the burger. Onion rings were mush. And look at what the shake looks like. I don’t like negative reviews, I had to be honest on this one. I won’t be back.
