I’m from NorCal and I saw the reviews and was in the area, so we gave it a try. —>
AMAZINNNNNG. My new favorite spot in all of SoCal. Seriously.

We ordered the brekkie quesadilla (pictured), banana bread skillet (pictured), chilaquiles with try-tip added, smoked carnitas brunch burrito, and la flaca scramble, but I requested cheese to be added (what a great choice by me!). Once I realized I wanted to leave a rave review, I had already finished my plate (pictured). But everything about what I ate was amazing. The perfect balance of richness in my plate (thanks cheese), veggie distribution and grilled-to-perfection flavor in them was enough to say this is the best scramble I’ve EVER had. I also tried the banana dish and that was lovely. The portions sizes were perfect for me. My boys had the other plates. The quesadilla was also all-time according to my son. The side sauce was amazing he said (tomatillo maybe?) He loved the tri-tip also.

There were so many other items I wanted to try that I will have to wait for another day. Our bellies were full and so happy.

As far as the service and ambiance, it was fantastic. For context, we went on a Saturday morning, when I’d usually expect a rush on breakfast restaurants. It wasn’t crazy at all. No wait. No problem. Also, we saw a dog dining with his people inside, which is nice to see that they are dog-friendly. The servers and staff were so pleasant and attentive. It’s small enough that you don’t get lost or forgotten and also enough staff around that you always have someone to ask for anything you need at almost any moment. We had timely service, but didn’t feel rushed at all. Someone in an earlier review mentioned the plastic chairs. I can confirm they are lovely, but I took a pic for reference.

Great cute new spot! Went on their second day open and the staff was gracious, attentive, curious about our experience, open to suggestions etc. The space is adorable and open. Cutlery is unique and beautiful. The plastic black chairs look like they are going to be hard and they are just the opposite- notably comfortable and bendy. The breakfast burrito was lovely- the salsas they serve with it are not hot at all, rather a bit sweet so if you like spice ask for the chefs hot sauce. It made it.

The charm of indoor/outdoor concept is lost a bit considering it faces a parking lot of a run down strip mall and is next door to a bait shop, but the entire area is being renovated bit by bit so hopefully the location will make more sense soon enough.

Just found this amazing new restaurant in Dana Point. The grilled yellowtail bowl and the “rooster” yellowtail fish tacos were delicious. Word has gotten out because it was packed for Wednesday lunch. The owner Micheal was so friendly and came out to say hello. Love that you can either dine in with table service or you can order take out (and have a picnic at Doheney State Beach which is across the street). I can’t wait to come back to try the gluten free waffles, which my friend tried and said was delicious!!

Nice new breakfast option in Dana Point. Unique flavors, good service. They offer Gluten free waffle and a few other options. Had the breakfast quesadilla (full gluten). If you go savory for breakfast, get the chipotle salsa to go with it.

Wow, this was the best lunch we’ve had in a while! We’re locals, and we were so sad when Doheny Cafe closed. But Pacific Pearl coming in with their new concept, The White Rooster…what a delicious upgrade!! It’s all the classic favorites from Pacific Pearl, but with a Mexican flare. Everything has so much flavor! I came for the breakfast burrito yesterday, and had to come back to try the tuna melt and crab enchiladas today. We loved it all. The coffee is also smooth and tasty! Love when you can get coffee in a mug, too. Definitely will be a new go-to!

So far I’ve been there twice, and both times the food has “been out of this world” amazing.
The first time here I had the chiliquilles. REALLY REALLY delicious! My friend ordered the carnitas quesadilla. She said it was delicious AND A LOT OF FOOD. Today I had the shrimp and grits tamale….again…. delicious and spicy!!!
We both had the La Jolla lemonade…I could drink those all day long poolside

Had a fantastic time at The White Rooster Café in Dana Point. The tri-tip tacos were absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The kale salad was excellent, fresh and well balanced. Unbelievable chef. The service was fantastic, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. Great atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming, and overall just a really enjoyable experience. I had a great time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Encouraged by all the great reviews, a group of us went here for breakfast on a Tuesday morning.

The food was creative and very tasty. Sadly, the place was markedly short handed. There was only one waitress for about ten tables. She was very helpful and nice, but clearly overwhelmed trying to take orders, bring out orders, mixing drinks, busting tables, etc.

The restaurant is quite new and may be working through the kinks. We really enjoyed the food, but I would hesitate to return until they address their staffing. Our drinks didn’t arrive until after we had already finished our breakfast which was disappointing. Beyond that it seemed like everyone was scrambling trying to keep up with business.

I hope that White Rooster is able to adjust staffing and thrive in the future.

What a wonderful new place! Absolutely amazing smoked tri tip tacos that just melt in your mouth, and the rooster fish tacos with yellow tail are out of this world! Banana split matcha latte is also calling me back, so planning my next visit soon. Thank you for a great food!
