I knew the restaurant was small and was worried we’d have trouble finding a seat because of that. However, we were the only customers in there for a solid 10 minutes when we first arrived. The restaurant itself was adorable! Small but nicely decorated and furnished. I appreciated the stars on the ceiling.
The staff were friendly and gave us as much time as we needed with the menu before we ordered at the counter. I had the chicken empanadas and the shrimp poboy. The food came out quickly and was piping hot and fresh.
The empanadas were excellent. Great flavor and tasted high quality. I found them to be a little oily but that wasn’t anything a napkin couldn’t fix. The shrimp was cooked well and I liked the sauce it came with. Their bread was also super soft and tasted freshly baked. Definitely something I’d consider ordering again!
Overall, I’d definitely come back to the White Owl and would love to check out more things on the menu.
Tip- deff give the spicy house pickles a try. I don’t like pickles and these may have changed me.
Also great selection of cocktails and beer, and a very chill environment. The tastiest meal I’ve had in Providence in a long time!
Got the birra sandwich, burger and empanadas.
The loaded tater tots came with queso and a fried egg on top. Mind blown! And let me tell you, these people know how to use seasoning! Every bite was scrumptious.
Can’t wait to return. Next time I’ll take pictures before I eat my food.
I don’t say this lightly…I’m back again to say this place serves the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, nestled in a bun that somehow manages to be both hearty and soft. Every bite was a masterclass in balance for seasoning, texture, and pure comfort food.
But it doesn’t stop there. The side of pickled vegetables are tangy, spicy, crisp, and thoughtfully composed. Not an afterthought, but a bright, palate cleansing complement that elevates the entire meal.
As someone who appreciates gluten free options, I was impressed by the expanded selections here. It’s clear they’ve gone beyond the bare minimum with breads and batter that don’t taste like compromise, but like real food crafted with intention.
And let’s talk about the Po’ Boy. Absolute perfection. They nail it! Flavorful fillings, on gluten free bread, and that New Orleans soul in every bite.
This place isn’t just good, it’s destination-worthy. A must visit for sandwich lovers, gluten free foodies, and anyone who knows greatness when they taste it.
