Comfy spot with 6 fireplaces, founded during Prohibition, that serves steak, salad, game & pasta.

We got tuna and scallops appetizers, lamb and duck for dinner, and flourless chocolate cake and apple tart for dessert. The food was amazing. The service was awesome. Our waiter Nic was delightful and or was a pleasure to be served by him. I appreciate the history of the restaurant, building and decor.

Over the last forty five years my wife and myself have always enjoyed our experience at the white oaks. Excellent service and friendly staff throughout the establishment.

Love to spend an evening at White Oaks. Like going back in time for a nice old-fashioned dinner. Love the tray with celery sticks, carrot sticks and olives accompanied by a dish of cottage cheese. My husband had the shrimp with bow tie pasta, and I had the duck, both delish. Never disappointed with the service and watching the wildlife while enjoying your meal is always a special treat.

How do I politely say good bye, not going back to a long time classic restaurant.
Yes, the restaurant industry quality n quantity has changed!
Tonight’s dinner was an unexpected let down.
Didn’t have that satisfaction feeling of WOW! what a great meal tonight.
We’re used to busy Saturday night crowds. Reservations were perfect. Party of 4.
Ordered speciality drinks from menu, can’t make one of them, out of ingredient.
Strike 1.
Single glass of wine: average $14. Buy a bottle for more than $55. What a mark up!
Prime rib was special tonight, sorry, ran out of that. AFTER WE ORDERED! Waiter came back to table and told us. Strike 2. Order something else; 2 qk appetizers will do. Beef wellington was par, average.
Two hours later we were done eating,
Not satisfied , just plain, nothing spectacular dinning experience.
Came home, still hungry, and snacked.
We have frequently been to White Oaks
Over the past 25 yrs, special occasions, date night out..
I will always remember the experiences dinning there, especially sitting next to the windows looking out at the creek!

I have history with the White Oaks! Byron Spooner owned the restaurant back in the 50’s into the 60’s. I watched. My parents get dressed up every Saturday night to go to dinner at the WHITE OAKS! Full of glamour, great food and most of all nostalgia !!
BOT ANYMORE! Nothing but a right wing gang out. Regulars wears sweat pants to the bar!!! No one dresses up. The bartender cones his mustache at the bar?!!! Grossed regulars are the regulars! Served first no matter if you are there first. No
Longer a class act! And I could go on!!! Want wonderful, historical experience! Eat dinner there. But it it is over rated!!

I share this review as a long time patron, since about the mid 2000s, so I have a large sample size to draw from. The first 15 years or so would be a solid 5 stars. This establishment has been around for almost a century and that does not happen by accident. In my experience, in recent years, entrees, while still expertly prepared have been brought out not even slightly warm, been informed ordered items are no longer available – 20 minutes later, and the lag time between when the appetizer and salad is served to when the entree arrives is about 40 – 45 minutes. You’re busy, I understand, just space it out more. If this was an inexpensive establishment I wouldn’t even bother with this – you get what you pay for but this is not one of those cases. There is a standard that still needs to be upheld that many other fine dining establishments don’t seem to have a problem with. Hoping for better results next time.

We made reservations for Friday night for early Father’s Day dinner and my husband loves prime rib which is served on Friday/Saturday. We were seated by a window with a nice view. We ordered our drinks and we were off to a good start when the warm crusty bread and delicious soft chive butter came. Then I mentioned to my husband that they forgot the vegetable plate w/ cottage cheese. My husband had to ask three different waiters to bring it out. We ordered the prime rib and surf & turf. The waiter said they were out of lobster. My husband asked if the filet could then be paired with shrimp. Nope. They could add shrimp only as a side dish resulting in a extra charge. We said that was fine. My husband’s prime rib was so small, overcooked, and tasteless. No baked potato, instead was the half potato with cheddar cheese that come frozen to reheat. The vegetables were not cooked right as well. I picked up my utensils to cut my filet which was smothered in demi glaze. Usually it is just a nice spoonful. I couldn’t cut the filet without some effort. I took a few bites and told my husband that the filet was overcooked, tasteless and pretty hard to chew. He took a piece and spit it out. Upon telling the waiter he reported this to the manager who never showed up to address our complaint. Now I would guess someone could say they hate their meal and proceed to eat it but I had to leave a whole filet for the garbage. The shrimp was not much better for $13,99. The manager took the filet off the bill but now I’m left with no dinner. So disappointing. White Oaks has been our go-to spot for the twenty years we’ve been married.

It was an amazing experience, and that’s all I have to say about this place. The atmosphere was beautiful, especially with the nature views. I had the shrimp pasta, and it was very good, perfect al-dente. This was one of the highest end restaurants I’ve been to in a while, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for really good food in an amazing atmosphere, especially because of the really cool indirect lighting that made the room look warm and lit late at night without blinding you with LED lights. Overall, a great place and it was an amazing experience for me and my whole family!

We searched high and low in the Cleveland area to find a place that served beef wellington and finally found this gem of a restaurant. We were a little leery when we got there, the parking lot and outside need a little TLC, but the inside was like a beautiful time capsule. We absolutely loved the charm and antiquity of the decor. The view was absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I couldn’t believe how ‘unrushed’ we were. They weren’t trying to hurry us along or flip our table. They took their time with each course and it was probably one of the most relaxing dining experiences we’ve ever had. We laughed about the cottage cheese at first, but gave it a try and loved it. The bread was delicious, the scallops perfectly cooked, and our entrées were fantastic. It was a 45min drive for us but well worth it. We will definitely be back!

This was our first experience at this restaurant. The appetizers were really tasty and well plated to give the elegant feel. The entrees were okay but didn’t hit as well as the appetizers. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting. It was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday and we barely got seats so I highly recommend placing reservations ahead of time.
