The menu is very straight forward and good. None of the food was Wow or unique but it was all good.
Drinks:
Winter punch: 3/5 it was good and a special There is a spiced cranberry juice in it which means a lot of cinnamon. Too much for my liking.
Charleston Fiz: 4/5 if you’re a gin lover I recommend. It was good. Not super strong (which I prefer) and a good mix.
Appetizer: 3/5 Pretzel with beer cheese and stone ground mustard. Loved that they came in sticks and they were very well made. Good soft pretzels. I would recommend. I wish the beer sauce wasn’t so thick. It reminded me of a spread more than a sauce
Dinner:
Side of Mac and Cheese: 4/5 this is made really great. I would highly recommend trying this.
Ribeye: 3.5/5: the steak was cooked exactly as ordered and it was nice it came with the au jus. I wish the broccoli had been seasoned and the steak had been seasoned. The mashed potato’s were really great. Definitely worth getting as the side.
Pot Roast: 3.5/5 I really enjoyed the dinner. The pot roast was cooked very well. Super tender. The seasoning was light and the root vegetables were good but again lacked seasoning. The mashed potatoes again super good and highly recommended.
The bread served with the food is really delicious. Very well made.
Dessert:
Chocolate cheese 4.5/5 (on special) it was really super good. Top two cheesecakes I’ve had. It was light and topped with candied walnuts. Those were a great roping choice
Chocolate chip cookies: 2.5/5 honestly I’ve had way better cookies. I liked how they’re are baked to order but that’s probably the most enjoyable thing about them.
For the price of the food the party of 8 was not impressed including myself. The walleye with cheese and chip breading was very generic and small for the 32$ price. Fish is served on burnt tinfoil with just melted cheese and busted chips. Very bland taste to put it nicely. Maybe 8 bites for size comparison. The 2 big turn offs were the mold in the broccoli and the waitresses pissy attitude at the end when the bill came.
The bill was divided between 2 people. She instantly got an attitude when she seen there was no tip added and proceeded to slam the igloo door.
We intended to leave a cash tip along with 40$ tip on the card but after her temper tantrum she recieved a much smaller cash tip.
For a 255$ food bill I think a 60$ tip is acceptable if it weren’t for the attitude she would of got 100$ tip.
Outside, there were charming igloo-style huts with heaters for outdoor dining — such a nice touch. I sat at the bar, where my waitress provided excellent service throughout my meal. I ordered the Orchard Salad and the Pot Roast, and both were absolutely delicious.
While I was eating, I noticed several other dishes being served that looked amazing — plenty of reasons to stop by again next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend!
Areas for improvement- The zip sauce was a little too salty. We didnt care for any of the appetizers we’ve tried and the soup was a little too bland. The rosemary pom spritzer had no rosemary scent nor flavor.
