White Heron is an absolute must stop. Really great coffee, tea, scones and breakfast–just to name a few items!
The service was absolutely fantastic, very friendly and accommodating. I’ve never worked from a café before and it was the most pleasant experience at White Heron.
They have lots of other items that aren’t to-go, but you’ll have to stop in and see for yourself. Prices seem to be very reasonable, especially for the quality! Thanks to Liza and the team for such an enjoyable morning!!

The turkey, cheddar and roasted tomato sandwich on sourdough bread was fantastic. I also got some cute holiday card here.

A nice place to enjoy a cuppa with free WiFi and huge windows to look out onto Islington street. The street lights are decorated, before Thanksgiving , with Christmas wreaths, to soon.
This is the first time I have had a tea latte ☕ where the espresso is replaced with a tea . You are given a huge list of teas to choose from! I chose ginger tea and it came with a froth on top . Tasty!
My cinnamon roll was good but you will need a lot of napkins. No plastic wear was offered.
There are benches outside for sitting.
The music was quiet . The sound of conversation permeated the air. I liked the set up inside.
There is a small collection of vinyl albums for sale. There is a huge shelf of White Heron teas for sale. Local business cards and events are posted in their own section.
I recommend a visit.

I have visited this cafe several times… every time the service has been exceptional and the food and drinks amazing. I have also ordered loose leaf teas multiple times via internet/mail…. every tea I have tried is of highest quality, full-flavored, and has quickly become some of my tried and true favorites. The orders arrive quickly – and one time, when I was mistakenly sent a decaf tea, they promptly replaced it and made the return process of the incorrect tea seamless. I cannot recommend their tea blends enough! Their customer service on every level is stellar.

Cozy spot with a big selection of herbal tea and coffee. Their lunch menu was very extensive as well. Many people were working off their laptops while drinking a coffee or tea or enjoying a sandwich. This place is very kid friendly because many moms brought their kids inside for a bite to eat. The food was delicious and you can also purchase their homemade herbal tea by the can. Highly recommended White Heron if you’re in the Portsmouth area! 10/10

We ordered latte and iced mocha. I loved the decor. At 2 pm, there was plenty of parking and free tables. They have a big variety of teas. My husband liked his iced mocha. However, my latte was bad. I threw it out. It was all wrong. The taste was off and foam was just bad.

My husband and I were recommended this spot so we visited today for some breakfast and coffee before our trip up to Portland. The food and staff were kind and accommodating, but I would advise not visiting in the morning hours as the sun glare left us both nearly blind!

Great spot for breakfast! Staff was so sweet and helpful when trying to decide what to order. They have loose leaf teas for every palate. They also have milk alternatives for the dairy free. The vibe( atmosphere) is so relaxed and welcoming. I plan to order some tea online in the future.

Amazing vegetarian breakfast wraps (with options for vegan or meat as well). Coffee is good, and if you’re a tea lover you have to check this place out. We tried the iced lavender chai tea and it was delicious. The cafe is very cute and is a great place for reading a book or chatting with friends!

We enjoyed hash brown breakfast bowls, one with eggs and vegetarian sausage and the other with eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheese! They make a very delicious green tea/Matcha and nice strong coffee! There is a very local and welcoming vibe. We will be back!
