The staff was so nice as incredibly helpful. I got the chicken sopes and the Philly cheesesteak. Best Philly cheesesteak in Waukegan! They add jalapeños with the peppers and onions and it’s such a nice little kick. The sopes were so good too!

I’ve got to rave about my recent visit to Al Jarrito (ZABIHA HALAL) in Waukegan. This place is seriously a standout! I decided to sample a bit of everything, and let me tell you, it was worth it: the Sope, Tacos, Philly Steak, a Burger (and a real burger, not one of those smash versions!), and the Corn. Each dish was bursting with flavor, clearly made with top-notch ingredients and a lot of care.
What really impressed me, besides the amazing and authentic American/Mexican food (definitely not that Desi halal Mexican!), was the customer service. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and even the cleanliness of the place stood out. It’s clear they take pride in every aspect of the restaurant.
If you’re on the hunt for a spot that nails both the food and the overall experience, Al Jarrito is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed!

I really enjoyed eating at Al Jaritto. The Philly steak sandwich was delicious and full of flavor. The tacos were tasty too, fresh and well made. I also loved the salsa sauce — it had the perfect kick. I will definitely come back again.

I work 10 minutes from Waukegan and I don’t have many halal options near me. I was googling and came across this new restaurant and decided to give it a shot.
It recently opened and it’s easily one of the best new restaurants in the neighborhood. It’s a perfect fusion of American and Mexican flavors, and everything we tried was seriously delicious!
We ordered the sope with steak, chicken, and potatoes, the texture of the masa (bread) was perfect. The tacos (we had steak and chicken) were also great, super flavorful, and you could tell the meat was high quality. Wings were amazing, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside!
The service was top-notch. The staff was super friendly, checked in with us, and really cared about how we were enjoying everything. They even asked for feedback and thanked us for coming in.
Can’t wait to go back!

This was our first time and it was DELICIOUS, I had a Crispy Chicken Sandwich mild but they also have a hot version w/fries & a Mexican Coca-Cola. I chased it with 3 BBQ wings smothered in sauce that will have you licking your fingers. Recommend trying for yourself and support LOCAL. ❤️ ❤️

Such a nice spot!! I highly recommend. The staff was so nice. I mentioned it was my first time and they gave me a taco to try while I was waiting for my food. Everything was delicious! I tried the lunch special so I could try a variety of options. It was an amazing deal. Please check this place out and support a local business!

Tried the Rice Beef Platter and it was fantastic!
Tender beef, perfectly seasoned rice, fresh salad, and that signature Jarrito sauce brought it all together. Great portion size and full of flavor.
Highly recommend if you’re craving something hearty and delicious.

The food was amazing, I got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with fries and it was very delicious. The chicken was really good! The fries were instantly my favorite. It didn’t take long and the workers were really kind! Best service i truly recommend coming here checking the place out! Would come again
