My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. We made a reservation for 5:30 and were immediately greeted and seated. Our waiter was Chris, he was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. The vibes were so high in here. The food was so delicious. We got appetizers and the three course meal. The food was so good that we had no leftovers at all. The workers are very happy. It is clean and reasonably priced for the quality of food and atmosphere. I highly recommend White and Wood.

The food was excellent, which makes this review even more disappointing to write. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the meal.

From the beginning, our server was dismissive and made us feel belittled. When we sat down and tried to order drinks and appetizers, he told us we were “not going to do that” and that we had to wait until we knew everything we wanted before placing any part of the order. The tone felt unnecessarily controlling and unprofessional.

When our appetizers did arrive, they were brought out one at a time — even though each person ordered their own. We ended up sitting there watching each other eat instead of enjoying the course together. For a restaurant at this price point, timing and pacing should be much more thoughtful.

Throughout the meal, water was never refilled, and we had difficulty getting our server’s attention. When we finished and asked for the check, we were told, “No, we’re going to clear your table and I’ll give you that in a bit.” Again, the tone felt dismissive rather than accommodating. Given this experience we will not be going back!

For a $350+ dinner, we expected service that matched the quality of the food. Sadly, the experience left us feeling uncomfortable and undervalued. I truly hope management addresses the service standards, because the kitchen is clearly doing excellent work.

Enjoyed an impromptu evening at White and Wood. Service made our dining experience relaxed and professionally served. The three- course tasting menu had many tasty possibilities. I went with the scallops. It was one of the tastiest, most unique flavor combinations I have had. Expertly prepared, I left not a bite! Dessert was worth finishing off as well!

We made 5:30pm reservations for a Friday evening to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and included our kids (7/10) and my MIL for the occasion. Timing was perfect for a family, as we were leaving when they were starting to pick up, but still had ample time to enjoy our meal. The food and atmosphere were incredible, and the service was top notch! The kids say it’s their favorite restaurant they’ve ever been too, and the grilled cheese and burger were perfect options for them. The dessert sampler was also a huge hit across the entire table-highly recommend! Happy to see a local restaurant downtown thriving, and can’t wait to return.

We’ve been here a few of times, and each time we thought the experience might be better than the last. I think we had our last visit tonight. Food is ok, very expensive for what it is. Nothing is exceptional. Oysters and desert were good. Cocktails are good. Service is slow. They ask you how your food is .3 seconds after you receive it and then that’s about it. There are much better restaurants in Greensboro with better value

I loved everything about this place, from the food, to cocktails, even the scent the hand soap and bathroom candles.
I ordered the Avocado Wedge Salad, Scallops with Risotto, and Panna Cotta and everything was excellent.
6/5 would recommend.

My wife and I visited last night for the first time and were shocked by the welcoming atmosphere. We got to our table and our waiter (who mentioned he also sometimes is the bartender) provided exemplary service. They were out of mint for my cocktail, so he recommended an off-menu one that was fantastic. My wife loved her white Negroni.

For food, we shared the chefs 5 charcuterie platter and could not have been happier. The selection of cheeses were diverse yet complementary and the pickled carrots were divine. The salami had a good punch of spice and the presentation was beautiful.

For our limited experience there, everything was perfect. We are looking forward to going for a full meal soon and could not have asked for a better evening. Thank you!

Don’t even know where to start with this place, and we even went back a week later for another dining experience! The menu is small, but packed with quality. There’s really no other place I’ve discovered in North Carolina that I was so content with. I loved every minute we spent there. They have an extensive drink menu with many wine options and rather intriguing crafted cocktails. Some items on the drink menu can even be made in a punch bowl for a group of 4-6 (or 2 drunks!) Hah! That gave me a good laugh. Hopefully next time I go I can get to experience that. The cocktails we did order though were delicious!

Appetizers of the caviar, burrata, and beef tartare were nothing short of what I had dreamt they would be. I am a big fan of beef tartare and the best part about this one was that it was filet mignon blend! The flavor and delicacy in that had me smiling from ear to ear! The caviar was decadent as well, one of my first few times having caviar and I think it may be time for me to start ordering my own at home for some at-home indulgence. The caviar was served beside an avocado creme fraiche mousse and you are advised to lay those both atop an in-house made truffle chip. Wow, just wow. Very few times I’ve experienced a flavor bomb like that. The layers of taste and flavor profiles of each selected ingredient was like an award I had been awaiting all of these years. The entrees of the ultimate bacon cheeseburger and the Nashville chicken actually came in a close second out of our first place appetizers. The chicken is served as a giant breast and was tenderized to perfection, this is something I usually don’t order so it was nice to have this moment that I decided to do it, it was magical.

As I said earlier, we 100% returned and selected a few other items from the menu including sixtysouth salmon and the angus beef petite tender. Naturally, the beef was one of the most tender things I’ve ever endured. This time around they just so happened to be out of oysters (sigh) and actually had a fairly new spring menu that included meatballs served with foie gras, they were unfortunately out of this item as well (double sigh). That’s okay though, with the satisfaction that we had with everything else, we let it slide this time ;).

Service was wonderful and attentive, as always. We were seated right away both times (even the first time when we were 45 mins early!) so brownie points added to them. The inside of the restaurant is maximized on all floor area, with a structured layout that utilizes all space that this quality establishment sprawls through. They also provide and open kitchen concept that creates a more inviting atmosphere and amplifies the dining experience. Really want to want the chefs work their magic? Well go ahead and take a seat and the bar that lines the length of the kitchen. Dim lighting and a solid music choice truly make this place the full package.

*one thing to note, which I have found out the hard way from people before me, the toilets in the bathroom have a little electronic flusher on the left side that you hold down, so fear not, you are okay. please be courteous to other and flush* LOL.
