Whistle Stop is already legendary for having some of the best New York-style cheesecake in the tri-state area, but their Apple Crumb Cheesecake takes things to a whole new level. It is the perfect mix of a bakery-style apple crisp and a rich, velvety cheesecake. Highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already!

First time visiting this bakery. Ordered the 10” chocolate mousse cake on Dec 24. No advance order, walk in only. Normally, they would provide writing but the line outside was insane, 30 min wait, and understandable they couldn’t accommodate. Lucky to have Stop and Shop across the street, bought decorative icing and did it myself. It does not influence my rating since it’s unique circumstance. The rating is strictly on the cake itself.
The cake and mousse layer is perfectly ratio. Nothing over power the other. Not super sweet, more Asian style subtle sweetness which is perfect. The biggest issue I have with LI bakeries is that they make stale cakes. This is the first bakery out of 25 bakeries I’ve visited that doesn’t make stale cake.
There’s just one issue I have with the cake. It’s slightly dense, not a perfectly fluffy cake. That’s what earns the 4.75/5 rating.
If I can’t get my usual cake in NJ, at least this place can do the trick.

My wife and I noticed this bakery while on our way to Costco the day before Thanksgiving, because there was a huge line to get in. So we stopped by today and found out what the attraction was: small store, large selection of baked goods, plus an irresistible fragrance. It was so difficult to choose, everything looked and smelled so good. The service was friendly as well. Our blueberry crumb pie and rugelach assortment did not disappoint. It’s too bad that bakeries a good as this are increasingly difficult to find.

I’ve lived in the area my whole life and this was my first time at Whistle Stop. It definitely won’t be my last. They made my wedding cake. It was a small wedding so a simple small cake was needed. Lisa helped me. She was friendly and knew exactly what I wanted. The cake was stunning but more importantly the cake was outstanding. The best I’ve had. Super moist and not overly sweet. She even called a few weeks later to see if I was happy with it. I thought that was incredible. Incredible customer service and delicious cakes.

For bigger orders/custom (call them, they are pretty flexible when it comes to ideas and quantity, even pick-up times) pretty hassle-free. Beside our regular order of pies and cakes we get for holidays and birthdays, I must treat myself to a square of fresh baked Napoleon, whenever i go ($$).

We booked our son’s baptism with Frank’s steaks in RVC and they are affiliated with whistle stop for the occasion cake. I was so blown away by this cake I had to come and make a review. It’s so hard to find a good sheet cake for special occasions. The flavor and texture of the cake was so delicious. We chose a chocolate mouse filling and it exceeded our expectations. The cake was so so delicious and beautifully decorated, which is also hard to come by with these types of cakes. I would definitely use them for future occasion cakes. It was perfect and my guests were asking where the cake was from so they could use in the future. Thank you so much whistle stop. 🙂
