Stopped in here after seeing the signs on the freeway. My typical go-to when drinking from the twin cities to Duluth was Tobies. I decided to stop in to the Whistle Stop Cafe to try it out and wasn’t disappointed.

I was excited to try this place especially after seeing they had hot beef sandwiches.
The potatoes tasted like they were basically boiled potatoes that had been mashed…no butter, no milk, nothing…the beef was dry.
My daughter had a spicy buffalo chicken wrap, she said her school makes them better.
My husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak, my other daughter liked her pancakes.

There was so much on the menu I wanted to try at Whistle Stop Cafe. Save room for desserts- the pies looked great. I ordered the BLT with curly fries. The bacon was smoky and had a lot of flavor. Friendly staff! The only negative was that there was something wrong with the AC but I got my food to go so it didn’t impact me.

Great breakfast! My wife and I both had the a.m. Trainwreck and would recommend it. Waitress was efficient and courteous. She took a minute to chat with us, which is always nice. Kitchen was very fast and food was excellent!

Stopped in on our way to Duluth for breakfast. Prices are reasonable, the All Meat Omelette was good but nothing special. The atmosphere was small town cafe just as you would expect. Jean our server was attentive and polite.

Great local cafe open (updated) 7am-7pm with breakfast available during all open hours, they do have lunch and dinner options as well. Very clean dining area, service was friendly and prompt and also helpful navigating the menu. Food was hot and fresh, the lovely woman who runs the place was also bussing tables and helping in the kitchen. Excellent option in the area, much better than the tourist trap closer to the interstate. Quaint diner offering delicious food with hometown service in a clean updated space – highly recommended!

What a great little escape! Went to the casino for a weekend away and stopped at this gem on the way home for some breakfast and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing and felt like I was right at home! The service was great and everything you get for a great price. The cinnamon rolls are a must! Was not disappointed and highly would recommend it to anyone in the area or driving by!

I recently visited Whistle Stop Grill in Hinckley, MN and had a fantastic experience. The service was impressively quick—we were greeted and seated right away, and our food arrived promptly. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and has that cozy small-town charm that makes you feel right at home. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, and it was absolutely top notch—perfectly toasted, generously filled, and packed with flavor. If you’re passing through Hinckley, this spot is definitely worth a stop for great food and friendly service. Rated a Four on service only because they ran out of Bread Pudding when I asked for it.

The interior decor looks recently done and was surprisingly fresh from the outside appearance. Nice menu with quite a few options. Not great deals, but not overly priced. Right in the middle and food was decent as well. If in the area and hungry, we’d stop again.

Our waitress was terrible. There were people that came after me and got there food before me. I had to wait 45 minutes to get my food. Then I didn’t get all of my order. Was still charged for it. I could see a discount for her tardiness. My food wasn’t even warm. But quality of my order I’m very disappointed. I’ve been there before they added on and made it bigger. Then never had a problem with my order. I think you should not have to wait to be seated too!
