Beware of the “takeout food” here!!!!! This review mainly pertains to the takeout. I just got off the phone speaking to a woman who stated she’s the G.M. here because I asked for the manager or even better the owner. 1st my husband and I have eaten here a bunch of times over the past couple of years and the food was always great when we ate in the building. Last night we decided to have some takeout. It was really late and we were both hungry. My husband ordered their B burger, which he’s ordered many times before well done. I ordered chicken wings half garlic teriyaki flavored and half plain extra crispy, along with an order of their scallops wrapped in bacon with no maple glaze ( which I had never tried here before). I begin to tell her what I had placed for my order and I asked her, is your typical order of scallops… She jumps in and says, yes, it’s an order of 3. You got 3 scallops and I said, well, I ordered it without the Maple glaze, and it came, she goes, yeah, on polenta. We serve it on polenta and it says that on the menu I said, oh, it does.?? Hmmm. (See pics) I then proceeded to tell her that I had ordered the chicken wings and how somebody had put the container down on something hot, which melted a hole in the bottom of it and all of the sauce came out all over the other two packages, stuffed in the one white plastic small bag, all three styrofoam containers were shoved intoit. My husband’s burger was ordered well done. You can see in the picture. It’s medium-rare at best (I typically order medium-rare) and there were finger holes in the bottom of his bun. She proceeds to tell me well, that’s “takeout food” “it doesn’t travel well”. I then said, oh, give me a break, seriously, we live right up the road from you not even a mile the way. After lying to me about the menu description or be in a GM who’s not familiar with menu items, she then proceeds to insult me by offering me fifteen % or fifteen dollar gift card for the next time. After being talked to in this way, I let her know there would not be a next time and that I wanted to give her an opportunity before I made my review to make things right. She never asked to see the pictures, if we ate the food, to replace the order correctly or offer a reasonable refund. I have worked in many restaurants and have never been met with such immediate defensiveness, and just being trying to be brushed off with a fifteen % or fifteen $ gift card. To show that I was bold face lied to a few minutes ago on the phone. I’ve added pics of the menu online from which we ordered and it does not anywhere mention that there are only 3 scallops or that they are served on polenta , it does, show the price that you pay for 3 scallops wrapped in bacon. I will let the photos speak for themselves. As I stated, we’ve eaten here before in house, and the food was always really good and presented well. I highly recommend staying away from their “Take out food” as their GM stated on the phone doesn’t do well once it leaves the building by these pictures, you can see it wasn’t doing well before it left the building. Also a quick mention. If you go in there late at night, prepare to stand there, wait and be ignored while the bartenders are joking around behind the bar instead of coming to see if they can hand you your order that is getting cold on the counter behind them. I paid $52 for this food and experience and ridiculously tipped the girl who ignored me and handed me the food two dollars. Why I don’t know, but I did. This phone call was really quick. I have never experienced such a sense that someone really didn’t care if their customers were unhappy or received such poor treatment and food as i just did from their GM. TO KEEP THIS HONEST AND REAL I HUNG UP ON HER
We will never be a customer at this establishment again!!! Also, there’s another local establishment that serves six scallops wrapped in bacon for 14.99 and they are equally as amazing. Search local restaurants you’ll find it.

This place is such a great location. It’s right on a beautiful beach. The food is exceptional as well. They have such a great selection of meals I wish I could have tried them all. Wonderful staff and live music. All around 5 stars!!!

My boyfriend and I grabbed seats at the bar and had such a great time! A friend recommended this spot for our weekend trip, and it did not disappoint. We loved the live music, and the nachos were incredible.
Our bartender/server, Cheyenne, was so kind and accommodating all night. The manager was welcoming but we did not catch her name. The food came out quickly and hot, and we were genuinely impressed by how hard the staff was working—it seemed like they may have been a bit understaffed, yet they handled everything so well.
As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I can truly say this restaurant deserves more recognition for its atmosphere, service, and overall quality!

We sat out on the patio and it was a beautiful day. The inside seating was available we just chose outside. I will say that inside is very open and it is loud with the music going and bar right there. If you are a person looking for a quieter atmosphere you would be better outside. Our waitress was Jenny and she was phenomenal! The food was great and I got the special wrap which was turkey, bacon, avocado was really yummy. My only complaint is that they should have filled the wrap up a little more. Definitely would go back again.

NASTY! The owner is nasty to repeat patrons. I was planning a birthday party for a friend turning 100 years old. He has menu anxiety, and cant see well, and the owner wouldnt part with a greasy, tattered menu worth 75 cents. He couldve decided his order ahead of time. She put her hand over the menus as though she were protecting the holy grail. I explained that I am a repeat patron and would return it in 2 weeks. What she didnt know is i was planning on bringing the whole party that night. I asked her how much the menu’s cost. I thought to myself maybe I could pay her for one. She got more and more nasty with me. I explained that it was for a few people in their 90’s. Her reply was that I could screenshot it, but it wasn’t said in a nice way. The thought of me having to blow things up and print it out for technologically challenged elderly people wasn’t worth it to me. Sometimes you’ve got to take risks in business to win big. We held the party elsewhere and had 30 people attend. NOW i know why the whole town hates the whiskey tavern. Its not the place, its her. Shes like a cheap Avon lady that will let you look at the catalog, but won’t let you take it home stating, ” I pay for those catalogs!” Lmao

Stopped in to watched the LSU vs Clemson football game and have a couple drinks after a long day. Sat at the bar with my wife and got a Blantons bourbon on the rocks and a Woodford reserve later. My wife ordered a Patron tequila. All drinks were served quick and hit the spot. We ordered a ricotta and meatball appetizer as well which tasted amazing. The bartender was helpful and offered other recommendations. They had a powerball machine in there near the bar and seeing the jackpot at 1 billion dollars, I had to get a ticket. Definitely a nice spot to stop if you are a whiskey lover, soo many different types of bourbon and other liquors to choose from.

We came here after we couldn’t find parking or get seated at Cactus jacks. Super glad it worked out this way. There was no wait, the waitress was nice., food was good, the price was right. I had garlic, teriyaki, chicken tenders…the flavor was really really good. My Husband had a CBC sandwich and coleslaw. He really enjoyed it. I would go back here before ever trying Cactus Jacks again.

I showed up with my family on 12/15/24 at 8:20pm. I asked the lady behind the bar if we were able to take a seat and have dinner. She explained the grill was shut down but only for appetizers, unfortunately. Why the grill shuts down over an hour and half before closing is absolutely ridiculous. The beer selection is always great, wonderful job! We were able to get appetizers, only to see our nachos were burnt. We notified our waitress and she didn’t show any interest in resolving the situation. The bone in wings were awesome and so were the tacos. The waitress didn’t show much initiative in us,we were the only people sitting at a table by the Christmas tree. I work in a customer service position myself and I always make sure it is my top priority. I’m hoping the staff here will change their ways soon as this will deter me and the many people I know around town from stopping by. Another restaurant I called,had the same closing time, before I sat down had their grill open for dinner, I regret not going over there. The Whiskey Tavern can be a great place to go to and bring my family, hopefully the staff step up their game in the future.

Incredible view! Came up from Boston and the bar is so so cool and interesting. Unlike anything I’ve been to. The manager J is so friendly, knowledgeable and outgoing and made it a great first time experience. Since it’s under new management, definitely recommend coming in. Well, well worth it.
