We winter in Florida and have eaten out, a lot.
We usually try and patronize independent restaurants. More interesting food, different decor, and keep clear of the corporate world. Our friends wanted to do lunch and recommended this nice little spot on the Pithlachascotte River (Cotte River for short).
Great choice! You can sit outside on a comfortable patio, or on a windy day like the one we had sit inside but in an open air portion of the restaurant.
The food is good and the menu is pretty varied.
Grouper sandwiches, Reuben’s, and burgers all the way around! We enjoyed ourselves.
Relaxing as well, watching boats cruise by, pelicans diving for fish and simply enjoying the sunshine.
The wait staff is also friendly and helpful.
Needless to say, we’ll be back!

This was an *incredible* discovery! The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious, and the menus had us planning our next visit before we even ordered! We all had different seafood meals, and every one was better than the last! I am so very glad we stopped in, and cannot wait to go back!!

A beautiful place on the river for a great bite to eat and excellent cocktails and beer.
My boyfriend got a burger with a fried egg on top that he said was one of the best he’s had in a long time! I got the fish and chips which were excellent!
The Bloody Mary was delicious and well made and our server was very polite and professional.
Definitely highly recommend this place!

Being on the river makes the atmosphere wonderful. The entertainer was a solo guitarist who played a wide veriety of music. Not just the typical “island” sounds. The service was great. I had the grouper fish sandwich the fish was moist, crispy and too big for the bun. It was great. My wife had the sirloin it was mostly med-rare, the way she ordered it. My one boy had the philly cheese steak. He loved it. My other boy got the hangover burger. He said it was the best he ever had. We all highly recommend Whiskey River.

We ate out on the water so I don’t really know what that atmosphere inside is like. We arrived shortly after opening. We had the zucchini fries, grilled shrimp in a bourbon cream sauce, smoked mahi fsh spreadread and a blackened grouper sandwich. The food is absolutely amazing. We ended up dipping all the food we had at the table in that bourbon cream sauce. I did wish that bourbon cream sauce had a little more viscosity, but i’m guessing it thickens up as it cooks. Like I said, we arrive just after opening. We did order a side of their thai garlic chili sauce with the ranch and zucchini fries and wow!! All three of us are still craving the zucchini fries and the shrimp in the bourbon cream sauce.Like every day…

Our first time there, we ate outside and the view was relaxing, and it felt really nice being on the dock. The food was excellent and so were the drinks, great flavors. The only thing that bothered me was the hostes, she seemed really aggravated and didn’t give off any happy vibe or like she wanted to be there. The server, was a little slow, we had to ask another staff member to get her to come to the table so we could order. But other than that my wife and I are going back to try the other food and different drinks.

Great little spot, the food was great, the sangria was good and the music was excellent. The atmosphere and vibe was much like Key West. We came by golf cart and the parking was easy and look like their enhancing them as well. We’ll be back!

Its on the water, its nice. Our last experience was superior. We spoke with management and they made it right. The receipt shows grouper tacos, but they were shrimp tacos. The price was adjusted.
