We had. dinner at Whiskey Creek in June, 2023. We were seated promptly . Our order was taken pretty quick. Then we waited approximately 45 minutes for our food to come out. We didn’t hear from our server the whole time.
The air conditioning was blowing on our table the whole time. I rarely get chills. But I actually was getting cold. I flagged down our server and asked about turning the AC to a higher temp as we were cold. I also told him I worried that it would cool our food too quick. He told us that they get a lot of complaints about that. But they are not allowed to do anything about it. He was very unapologetic about it.
So our food comes out. It was pretty good and we were enjoying it. But as I feared, my food was cold in a couple of minutes. I still ate some of it, but finally wasn’t enjoying cold food. So I abandoned the rest of my dinner. The wife didn’t make it that long.
Our server came back to ask if we wanted dessert, we said no thank you. We paid the check and went on our way.
I will say that I liked the decor and the food tasted good. But why do you seat people in booths or tables that they might complain about the cold, when there were many other tables available ?
It could have been a decent dinner. Instead we paid a lot of money to freeze and try to eat cold food. And either the people in charge or our server just don’t care. I’m glad we were just passing through the area and most likely won’t be visiting this place in the near future,

The Whiskey Creek in Mitchell is under new management, and so far, the results have been encouraging. The brisket is the real deal. It’s choice beef, smoked overnight low and slow. Pulled pork, the same. The service staff is young, but talented and learn quickly. I have a lot of friends in the food industry and everyone I mean EVERYONE is in need of reliable help. This location is on it’s way up I assure you. Just 1 year ago it was a preferred stop on trip advisor, don’t write them off until you visit and try what’s on the smoker or coming off the wood fired grill. The staples here are the bacon wrapped shrimp, southwest tootsie rolls, and the rattlesnake pasta. Kids menu is favorably priced around $7.99 and has a sirloin entré, baby back ribs, steak burgers and more.
There is a viewing window to watch what’s cooking on the wood-fired grill, a full bar, and a cozy patio.

Our meal was great tonight! Our server did a phenomenal job of being social with us and making us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Our food came out quickly and exactly as we asked. Typically when I go somewhere and order the Prime sandwich, I expect it to be a bit tough (usually why it is served with au jus). However- it was tender and still cooked medium-medium rare (I asked for peppers, onions, cheese)! Great flavor too!! Can’t beat the hand cut fries either.
My husband had the Hoss burger- cooked exactly how he asked for it. Even better when you dip it in the bbq sauce that comes with the tootsie rolls (chipotle lime). Definitely recommend!!
Also- Highly recommend the tootsie rolls!

We visited this place for lunch during our drive to Nebraska, and debating between two places, I think we chose the right one. This place is nice, especially for a restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The food is delicious, but the portions are very large. The menu is also quite diverse. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Overall, this place is good enough for a quick lunch or dinner.

Amazing meal! We started with the appetizer platter then split a 16 oz prime rib. Needless to say we are taking a to-go box home, FULL.

They were short staffed, but the wait was worth it!

Wonderful place, food and service. Alexis was great. She was quick to our table as we sat down and checked on us several times. Both had prime rib and it was tasty and hot. Didn’t find a menu online, so I’m posting that as well.

It was a busy day. College graduation. We had a booth for 6. Food was similar to that at a basic restaurant so nothing fancy. The 3 star rating is because 1 of 6 items we ordered came out: salad, it was the meal. This was about 20 minutes after ordering. Then nothing for the next 30 minutes. Our table was checked on 1 time. We refilled drinks. I went to the restroom and saw the manager. I said we received a salad but that’s been 30 minutes ago. Can you see what happened to our order? She did. It was input after a 10 top and a 20 top. So idk what to say other then we should have maybe been told, checked on more. I feel the service was lacking. The appetizers and meals all came out together within 5 minutes. Maybe on a slow day it would be better.

Waitress, Chelsea I believe was her name, was awesome. Said she had been there for ten yrs and enjoyed talking to the traveling guests. Good food. All fresh. My bacon wrapped shrimp dipped into the legend sauce was so good. Yum. I recommend them. Sweet potatoes were tasty too. Steak had a good flavor. Always a plus when you find MR. PIBB.

What a disaster this place has become. We came out here three years in a row and were always very happy with the food and service. It’s been a few years since we’ve been able to make it, so we were excited to come back. The place is a total train wreck now.

They were out of prime rib, ribeye, pork, brisket, and ribs. Waitress said they were out of the bloomin onion after we ordered it, came back and said they actually had one. When we finally got it, it was terrible. Clearly just grabbed a yellow onion instead of sweet onion (because they ran out)and it was quite honestly disgusting. This wasn’t the worst part though….they brought out our food and I ordered the prime rib sandwich. Our table couldn’t control our laughter at how ridiculous it was. It was basically the thinnest piece of beef jerky thrown on a hard piece of bread…and that was it! Waitress was at least really nice and even agreed the sandwich was embarrassing. I’m not sure what changed but this place is horrible now.

After a long day on the road (9 hour drive), I happily ordered an avocado chicken salad to go and settled into my hotel room. Finally ready to dig in, I discovered there was no chicken on the salad. I called them, and unhappily headed back out to pick up a replacement. I am including a picture, as I’m pretty sure you can see for yourself that the cold chicken looks like croutons and tastes like leather. Not the “pit roasted” description from the menu, that’s for sure! All of this for the unreasonable price of $16.50. I ate the lettuce, egg, and avocado and threw the chicken in the garbage. Most expensive side salad ever.
