What a wonderful small town steakhouse! From the first step in the door the place is welcoming, bright, and clean. My wife and I seated ourselves, and the server came to our table right away for our drink order and took our food order when we were ready. She was very courteous. She checked on us a few times to see how we were doing and to keep our drinks filled.
I ordered the Swiss Mushroom Burger with Fries. The food came in a timely manner and was nice and hot. My burger was cooked to perfection, nice and juicy, but also not dripping all over with grease. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The spicy cheese curds had a light zing to them and were not the spicy that makes you not taste your food anymore (I don’t like when you can’t taste your food after something extra spicy). The flavor of the burger, fries, and cheese curds were exquisite. The portions were just right and the prices are very reasonable. I would have spent just as much, or more, at fast food and not gotten as tasty of food (nor a beer).
Well worth the 20min drive (I’d drive an hour for the wonderful food, service, and atmosphere at Whip’s) 100% recommend Whip’s.

Recently moved to Nebraska City and were out driving around and spotted Whip’s. The waitress greeted us and was so friendly and welcoming! We had the pork sandwich, fried shrimp, onion rings and fried pickles. All were delicious and the service was excellent. Will definitely be back.

I LOVE going to Whips!! The wait staff is super friendly and are very accommodating! I live 45 minutes away, and it is well worth the drive. The food there is absolutely amazing! The Prime Rib has to be the best is all SWI!

Don’t know what those people were talking about but the food here is GREAT!! I’ve had family members come down or come over just to eat here. Brother in laws said the prime rib was the best they ever had especially for the price. Atmosphere is always great and friendly!! We love going to whips! ☺️

Food was mediocre at best. Ranch dressing is homemade. Service was great and the atmosphere is nice. Entree was only 1 star. A bit disappointing but it could have been an off night. Would give them another try.

Whip’s is a local institution. They provide the peanuts and you can throw the shells on the restaurant floor. What fun! It’s a great place to eat as well as catch up on what’s happening around town. The menu doesn’t wander too far away from the middle of the road. If you’re nice they will fix you an excellent party melt. It’s not on the menu but if you’re polite Trish will take care of it.
I like Thursday night especially chicken fried steak and mashed with gravy. All at a bargain rate. My wife likes going there because they have Angry Orchard on tap; not a common thing around here.
