The atmosphere – really stunning. The light but upbeat music was perfect for the space and mood.
Top it off with the pistachio-chocolate ice cream!
A foodie’s delight and super vegan friendly.
If I could suggest anything to management, it would be to add a few more specialty non-alcoholic drinks, some hot beverage options, and a wider selection of desserts. Overall, though, we really enjoyed our visit and would happily return.
Good:
– The plates all come pretty quickly – babaganoush with the pita came out super quickly and generous portion of pita
– The lamb pita was delicious – small but the meat was very juicy
– The ice cream dessert was huge – and great for sharing! Super refreshing too
– The veggies were all scrumptious – the elote stuck out the most with the corn and super tasty sauce.
Bad:
– Pretty expensive for pretty small plates, portions are very small
– Hard to flag down the waiters
– Brussel sprouts were just average, the shakshuka was a bit too lightly flavored for me
Overall this was a nice upscale date experience!
Now, couple negatives : first, portion size of the dinner items is small for its price. Second, HealthySF” 8% fee is a surprise. It’s not a government mandate. It’s just a label put on there to raise profit. It would be better to just raise the price of each item by 8% instead of charging a fee as it makes pricing confusing and seemingly deceiving. Second issue is that large espresso drinks don’t come with a ceramic cup but that it must be served in a paper cup. 1 Hotel is emphasized on being green. This practice doesn’t go along with 1 Hotel’s ideology. That said, overall, still a very great restaurant and we enjoyed both meals !
Food was fabulous aside from the skewers which were way overcooked (well done when we asked for medium rare).
We tried:
Hummus – amazing
Brussel sprouts – out of this world yum
Chicken sandwich- very good
Burger – so bomb
Za’atar fries – absolutely incredible
It’s a bit on the pricey side ($20 cocktails and $26 burger) but given the setting, experience, and food quality which are all very nice/slightly upscale vibes, I think the prices make sense. They could do with some discounted happy hour drinks and apps.
