This was a spontaneous dinner choice and one that will forever be regarded as fortuitous! Spectacular location, great menu options, amazing steaks, glorious wings, chart cocktails…what’s not to like! The staff is professional, courteous and informed. We were a party of eight including two children, and everybody walked away satisfied.

We were on our honeymoon and had my birthday dinner here. Everything we had was fantastic! Here’s what we ordered:
For drinks I had the Blood Orange Margarita and my husband had a White Claw. We enjoyed both.
We had the Coconut Shrimp as our appetizer. It was delicious, but for some reason they forgot to include the sweet Thai chili sauce.
My husband ordered the Gorgonzola-Crusted Filet Mignon. He absolutely loved his entree! He said it was the best steak he’s ever had. He said it was cooked perfectly.
I ordered the Vermont Cheddar Chicken. It was so amazing. The chicken was melt in your mouth and the rhubarb chutney was so good. My husband doesn’t like rhubarb and loved the chutney. I loved the cider jus as well. The flavors complemented each other so well!
For dessert we ordered the Sac de Bob Bon. This is their signature dessert and it was phenomenal! We shared and ate everything. The chocolate mousse and the fruit were so delicious. It was decadent and everything we wanted.
I highly recommend this spot. After our meal, we walked around the Main Street and enjoyed the beautiful town.

Thank you to our server Arda who made our experience very pleasant. The drinks, appetizer, entree and dessert were all delicious and Arda was able to answer any questions we had (we are visiting from New York). Such a lovely night!

Went here for our anniversary for the third year in a row. Everything was amazing and they wrote us this card that was so sweet. Potato soup and Caesar salad to start were phenomenal. The whip steak and special steak frites were delicious for our entrees. We ended the dinner with the blueberry apple crumb pie and a double espresso. Our server Ruby was awesome! Always reccomend the Whip and I hope one day they bring the turkey dinner back on the menu!

Great restaurant in the Green Mountain Inn. Food was excellent and Linda, our server was very friendly. Due to burst pipes, they had to close for a few nights but we were able to get in the last night of our stay and were glad we did!

I believe the last time I was here was with my Dad nearly 40 years ago. It’s very much the same from what I can remember. Dark tones, jazz playing in the background. A nice upscale dining experience. Chefs are all behind glass, working diligently making tasty dishes. The honey oat bread is addictive. The Maple buffalo wings have a great sweet taste that leaves your lips with a slight burn. Spinach and avocado dip with pita chips is also a great appetizer. My daughter liked the whip bar steak while my son loved the taste of the French dip. The Vermont cheddar chicken was flavorful and crispy. My wife thought the roast prime pork chop was cooked perfectly, which lots of flavor. Definitely a nice meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

We dined here twice recently while staying at the Green Mountain Inn. Both meals were delicious. Our first night we had the halibut and trout specials, that were prepared to perfection and included delicious accompanying sauces. The second night we enjoyed a spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, and steak au poivre and simply grilled fillet for our entrees. We ordered our steaks medium and they were superbly cooked. The cozy upstairs dining room features a fireplace and the downstairs offers additional seating as well as outdoor patio seating. Our server was Matej who was fantastic!

Had an excellent experience at Whip Bar & Grill. Steven, our waiter, was outstanding. Extremely professional, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable. He made the entire experience feel top notch and was very informative about the menu.
We had a burger and a ribeye, and both were cooked perfectly. The wings we ordered as an appetizer were excellent, and the corn chowder was amazing as well.
Overall, fantastic food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend this place, and definitely ask for Steven.

My wife and I stayed at the Green Mountain Inn recently, so dinner at The Whip was convenient. We went two nights in a row, so obviously our first visit did not disappoint. That first night I had the pan seared cod, which was very good, and my first beverage was the maple old fashioned, which I also enjoyed.
But I’m writing this review about the second visit and about one item. The maple buffalo wings. Oh. My. God. I’ve been eating wings since 1991. (I know that’s oddly specific but the first time I had wings was when I went to college.) I’m not exaggerating when I say that these were probably the best wings I have ever had. They were the right size and cooked to the right level of crispness. But what really put them over the top was the flavor. I have never had a wing sauce that good. They had that buffalo kick that you want with a hint of sweetness that was noticeable but not excessive.
The restaurant is also just a cool space, halfway below street level with an old school feel. I expect we’ll go back to Stowe someday, and we will go back to The Whip.

Food was excellent – from the kids pasta / chicken fingers to the fish special and prime rib. Bartender made a nice “Whip Style” old fashioned (they use VT maple syrup to sweeten). The apple blueberry pie is a can’t miss dessert.
