Social Profile:

Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

3rd time eating here after working over 10 hours. 2 Spicy chicken combos and a double what a burger combo. We seriously thought our chicken had sat there for a extended period of time, all the fries were stale. Sweet tea had 1 almost empty (did not get to have more than a few sips) other sweet tea went BAD. So after notifying staff it was removed (they tasted it). Double whataburger food poisoned my other employee so he has been throwing up all night and missed work today. Never again!

The short younger Hispanic lead or assistant manager wearing black shirt working lunch prevented an employee from adding easy honey bbq to my fajita as the online order did not allow me to order normally through the add. She was just standing around looking mad at the world. It’s always free through the app as I have screenshots. Doesn’t matter. Horrible customer service. I try to give Whataburger my biz but lately things like this are making me go elsewhere.

We waited 30 minutes to get our food: a jr cheeseburger with small fries and small water, a cheeseburger with medium fries and a tea and a medium vanilla shake with large fries. 3 tables that ordered after us got their orders before us. My daughter didn’t even get what she ordered. I asked to speak with the manager who tried to tell us that the drive thru was busy. I told him I didn’t care because 3 tables that ordered after us got their food. Then he tried to say they make everything fresh. So what? Did those 3 tables before us get old food and we got ours so late because they wanted to make it fresh??? I told him he was talking out of the side of his mouth and it was obvious he didn’t care that we got our food so late AND that my daughter didn’t even get what she ordered. Don’t go here. Their manager has no idea what customer service is and they don’t care about their customers. Spend your good money elsewhere.

My husband William and I stopped at the Whataburger in Fredericksburg, TX today, March 5, 2026, at exactly 1:00 PM. As we got drinks and found a table, we noticed a large male employee running a very large, loud floor scrubber while customers were trying to have their meals. When a young man brought us our food, William asked him if he could tell the employee to stop running that machine, because William did not bring his hearing aids, and the loud sound was really bothering him. He said he would, and I went to the restroom real quick. When I came back, the employee was running the machine again! I thought that was very rude and disrespectful. My husband had had it, half way through his meal, especially because the employee with the machine was coming nearer, and scraping the floor loudly with the chairs moving around as he scrubbed. William thought he was doing that on purpose, and was upset at being told, so he and went to the front to talk to the manager in a kind and respectful manner, and the manager happened to be the young man who brought us our meal. William is an 85-year-old disabled Vietnam veteran, and he didn’t have his cane with him at the time, but decided to take a chance and go talk to him anyway. He told him in a nice way that this machine was running again, and the manager replied that he already told the man to stop. William then asked him to write his name down on a piece of paper, and the man disappeared into the kitchen, sending a young lady to go tell the employee to stop running the machine. This time he did, and put everything away. You know what I saw here? Total disrespect from the employee on the machine, towards the manager—and no spine on the manager’s part if he cannot control his employees when a customer is having hearing difficulties because of that loud machine (this machine shouldn’t be run while anybody is in the business anyway, since we could hardly hear ourselves talking during the cleaning). And then to send out a young lady to talk to the employee when he couldn’t get him to stop the first time? What are we to think of this? We have always loved Whataburger, and we lived in Corpus Christi, TX for decades. We have never witnessed such rudeness and disregard at any of your stores. Needless to say, we won’t be eating at this one again.

Tonight I picked up a chicken sandwich with onion rings, both were fresh and hot. I had to wait for a bit, seems the rings weren’t began until I walked in, but I appreciated the warm temperature as I rediscovered how fast food is properly served. Thank you to all that make it happen here.

The food was good, but the service was terrible. The cashier was miserable and wore it on her sleeve. I had to go to the counter and ask for my food because she failed to give me a number. I then had to go back and ask for napkins and ketchup because none were offered. She acted as though it was a bother.

It’s been really nice coming to this Whataburger. My husband and I have needed cheaper date nights, and the atmosphere on a Friday evening is fun. The service is always great, and you can see them doing training with new employees on most Fridays. The food comes out fast and fresh. We rarely have an issue, but if we need anything the staff is quick to respond.
