Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Last week, we drove home from performing a show in Seguin to pick up curbside for a 3-person order after a LONG day. This location is the closest to where we live. When we got home we were sorely disappointed to taste cold fries, uncommonly salty burgers and a triple burger with only 1 patty. Took it immediately back and the manager fixed the order right away and even made up for the inconvenience.

I tried something different and didn’t really like it as much as the jalapeno whataburger. The melt was too messy and the sauce was spilling out and onion were burnt. Service was great and everything was freashly made. Order Cobb salad with grilled chicken 3 times and it was made different 3 times. For whataburger employees Whataburger’s new Cobb Salad comes with your choice of a warm, diced Grilled Chicken, Whatachick’n or Spicy Chicken filet, on a bed of Red Roma lettuce blend topped with shredded carrots, shredded cheddar cheese, three crispy bacon strips cut into pieces, grape tomatoes and a sliced hard-boiled egg.

Driving back to Houston we decided to stop by Whataburger being that we love Whataburger we decided to dine in, once entering I couldn’t believe how filthy this location was , tables weren’t wiped down, milkshake machine was broken, coke dispenser was flat. Restroom had no toilet paper, trashcan seemed like it had yet to be cleaned out from the night before over flowed with napkin towels. Continuing on.. i was in the midst of completing my order with a milkshake when I was told that the milkshake machine was broken already bothered with how restrooms were I laughed in disbelief. The lady at the register then became disrespectful a made a comment insisting to maybe try McDonald’s to see if there ice cream machine was working. I mentioned to her that if I wanted to go to a place with broken machines I would of just went straight to McDonald’s. I’m very disappointed with the service I was given and even more with how dirty and not taken care of the place was coming from a Whataburger; honestly!!. Just truthfully ashamed of the poor management this facility has. And how corporate has yet to make an appearance to see how they fail to keep the place sanitary. Being a proud Texan I couldn’t have been more disheartened of this .
