Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The staff operated with impressive rhythm, managing to deliver fresh, hot meals faster than expected. My order arrived perfectly assembled — a burger stacked with crisp vegetables, tender meat, and that signature toasted bun that Whataburger fans know and love. The fries were golden, just salty enough, and clearly cooked to order. Every bite carried that made-to-please freshness you rarely find at fast-food chains.
The dining area was comfortable and inviting — a bright, open space that felt both modern and nostalgic, with cheerful orange accents and a steady hum of satisfied customers. The team behind the counter smiled easily and moved with purpose, making each guest feel welcomed rather than hurried.
In an age where many quick stops feel impersonal, this Whataburger stood out as a model of care and consistency. Whether you’re a weary traveler chasing caffeine and comfort food or a local grabbing lunch, this is the kind of place that makes you linger just a little longer — proof that great service and simple, honest food still matter.
My bf while waiting went to the bathroom and said there was no soap in the dispenser. He used to work at whataburger and there are not dispensers in the kitchen to wash hands either. Few mins prior saw an employee go in with food and then sat to take his break/wait in the dining area.
Meanwhile we get the food for the online order and needed to double check because our app was wrong. Manager i assume in the Grey stripe shirt threw a fit in the lobby, same dude who checked a bag 4 times.
Line in the lobby for dine in had been waiting for 15 mins before someone came to take their order.
Also had other dashers/uber eats people waiting 30+ minutes. One worker was nice enough to double check the order with us and get our drinks in time so that’s the only positive thing to say. But other than that don’t order online at this location.
