Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The store was spacious and clean. The chairs were comfortable, and many people were enjoying their meals inside. It was the first burger place I’ve seen where so many customers choose to dine in.

I was seriously impressed with this Whataburger location! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt incredibly welcoming and bright. The entire restaurant—from the tables to the floors—was spotlessly clean, which really sets it apart from your typical fast-food experience.
The staff here is fantastic. They were friendly, professional, and clearly know the menu inside and out. One team member made a few menu suggestions that ended up raising my total a bit, but I honestly didn’t mind at all—the upgrades were spot on and made the meal even better. They even proactively offered the spicy ketchup, which is a must-have!
As for the food, the quality was exceptional. Everything was fresh, hot, and put together with care. It’s rare to find a location that hits all the marks on cleanliness, service, and food quality, but this one nailed it. I’ll definitely be back!

My partner and I dropped in for a meal, and we were really impressed by the overall vibe of this location. It’s a very welcoming and calm environment, which made it a great spot for us to sit down and catch up. We were also struck by just how clean and well-kept the entire restaurant was—it clearly isn’t your average fast-food stop.
The staff was wonderful—genuine, polite, and attentive to the little things. They made sure we had everything we needed.
The food quality itself was great; everything felt fresh and was prepared perfectly. It’s rare to find a place that combines great service with such a clean, comfortable space. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back when we’re looking for a reliable, high-quality meal together.

One of the only places open on Hewitt drive today. We appreciate them being open. We did not go crazy and over stock on food and didn’t really want anything we did have for dinner. They had a line around the building and several people inside. The phone ringing off the hook. They are slammed but still pushing. Customers are sort of impatient but the staff are still being really helpful and nice. We had a great experience and glad to eat here today!

Came here and ordered a BBQ honey chicken strip sandwich meal. The chicken tenders appeared to be gray in color & old & the fries were clearly old & quickly dipped in hot grease to seem like they were fresh. Once again money down the drain. Will never spend my money at this place again.

The drive thru line is always crazy long even at late hours and takes forever. At most I got stuck in the drive-thru line for nearly an hour. My order has been consistently wrong on almost every trip I’ve been there wether it be dine in, online pick up or from drive-thru. They need to get it together.
