Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

To begin with the positives, the restroom was commendably clean—an essential for any traveler and not always a given during late-night hours. The exterior of this location also carries a certain nostalgic charm, with its classic layout and vintage design. There’s potential here for the restaurant to lean into that heritage and create a memorable roadside stop.
The service was polite, though the restaurant was out of large cups, a small but noticeable inconvenience. The fries were made fresh to order, which I appreciated. However, execution fell short. Though hot to the touch on the outside, they arrived undercooked within—frozen in the middle, as if the oil had not reached proper frying temperature. For a brand that prides itself on consistency, this was a misstep.
Cleanliness beyond the restroom was another area for improvement. While the surfaces appeared freshly wiped, the corners, floors, and less obvious areas betrayed the need for a deeper scrub. A touch of TLC could transform this well-located, charmingly old-style restaurant into an outstanding stop for weary travelers.
In short: a mixed visit. The bones are good, the atmosphere holds promise, but consistency in both cleanliness and kitchen execution will determine whether this location shines as brightly as the brand’s reputation.
Honestly you can’t say ones better than the other they both are literally neck to neck the milkshake on the other hand is better at whataburger. Over all nice clean and food was fast and delicious clean restroom met my expectations good job guys
Affordable too
Ordered online for dine in. They gave me the food in a bag then rolled her eyes at me when I told her it was for dine in and never offered condiments requiring me to go back up to the counter to be ignored for 5 minutes while I wait to ask for ketchup now everyone is huddled up in the corner of the dining room having a good old time sharing reels .. since arrival I was met with rude stares. Eye rolling. And bad attitudes especially by the lady that helped me. I couldn’t help to feel it was racially movitated like I felt like I wasn’t welcome there at all as other customers with other skin tones were treated well and I witnessed the opposite of others if you know what I mean.
Terrable .
