Social Profile:

Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

The service and accuracy of the orders is abysmal at this location. I understand they’ve been opened for less than a month but with several other locations in the area they should have it together. We got our food before the person sitting next to us who had been there quite a while because they forgot her order. My husband asked for no mayo on his chicken sandwich but it came with it anyway. I asked for mayo on my burger but was not given any. When I asked for some on the side I was told they don’t even have mayo which of course was a lie. The fries were way too salty and soggy.

I’ve had better continental breakfasts.

I used to be a big fan of Whataburger, but in the past 10-20 years sadly their quality has gone downhill. I never thought they would serve powdered eggs… but here we are. I doubt my family will bother trying breakfast here again. It’s just so meh and overpriced.

I’ve been to this location three times now, and unfortunately I’ve yet to have a positive experience.

First time was opening week, and it took 45-60min to get our order. I gave them a pass this time.

The second time, they forgot to give us a number, and their receipt printer was not working. After about 30 minutes of not receiving food, I asked for an update, and they asked for my number and receipt, of which I had neither. They had to ask the manager to go through the order history to find our order and put it together. There was no attempt made to offer us anything for our troubles.

The third time, I went through the drive through, and they gave me the wrong order. We had to call, return to the restaurant, and return the order while they remade our original order. Again, there was no attempt made to offer anything for our troubles.

Once we had our food, it was always fresh, and the restaurant is always clean.

I try my best not to share negative reviews. I reached out to this establishment about an order. Ordered a special order. Repeated the order to the speaker about five to six times. Waited about 30m for food when there was no one in the dining room and two cars in front of us. The order was correct on the screen, on the two separate foot long stickers for two combos and an order of wings. Checked the order before driving home. It was incorrect. I’ve worked in food service for a decade or so and I was disappointed that it was incorrect but nothing to get mad about. The only thing that can drive me crazy is when the same person who took my order asks me to repeat what is needed for a remake. I repeated myself a few times to them. I told them “in case you have issues recalling, don’t forget the sticker can help.” They stomped away. Waited for about ten minutes. A different worker asks me what was on the sandwich. I told them and reminded them of the label. It’s been about 20m waiting on a sandwich. The rest of the order is chilling out in the car. The fries are past their prime due to the inconvenience. Before they hand me the sandwich back, I asked for a fry replacement. Fries are cheap. Told them a large and a medium, please. Then, the first time I came in contact with the shift manager, handed me a bag back with a burger and a brownie. They were snarky and not very nice. I asked them for fry replacements. They chose not to listen, but placed a medium fry in the bag. So, I was going to treat the situation calmly and politely but decided to unwrap and check the sandwich for accuracy in front of them and place the brownie back onto the counter and left. No one greeted me when I came in. There was an audience of about six young people gawking, and not a manager to be seen in a restaurant that wasn’t bust at 720 on a Feb 1st. $37 for a waste of time. Please train your people to care. Hire caring people. If there’s a shortage of that, then don’t stay open for 24 hours. What was the substitution? A Monterey burger with Monterey cheese for both areas of cheese and no ranch sauce. Done. I have a picky eater who doesn’t like the American cheese. I have contacted the customer service for help. Nothing. I’d rather go to a different location until this one can learn how to take care of themselves and other people for now.

I first discovered Whataburger when the location on Metcalf in Overland Park opened and it became a rare treat I only got to enjoy when I was in that area. Imagine my surprise when the mystery building 5 minutes from my driveway finally revealed itself to be a new Whataburger! I’ve been a few times both inside and through the drive-thru and this location doesn’t disappoint. Today I drove thru and tried the new Buffalo Ranch Chicken Strip Sandwich which was delicious. Service was fast and friendly! Will be back to try more of the menu for sure. The fries and spicy ketchup are the best!

I’m very happy that Gardner has another burger place now, and so far the food and service has been great, other than the extremely slow drive thru. Having to pay extra for cheese is a little ridiculous, and charging for sauce is also sad. But i love the fries, they are perfectly salty and delightful.

Ive personally nothing against this restaurant it’s just nothing that super stands out, they have decent burgers I believe I get the spicy BBQ and it’s generally fills the void if needed. Staff seems fine but overall just another fast food burger joint.

Ordered a cheese burger, onion rings, amd a sweet tea tonight for the first time. I hot it togo. It was the worst burger I have had in Gardner. First everything on the burger was wrong. It was just supposed to be a cheeseburger with ketchup, mayo, and pickles. I got a hamburger plain and ice cold, the onion rings were ice cold. Paid for ranch and gravy sauces and neither were in the bag. Ordered a sweet tea and didn’t realize they didn’t give me a straw either until I got home. If this very basic order at 7pm was this bad I can’t imagine how horrible they do when they are busy. I won’t be returning.

My wife and I were lucky enough to be first in line! We have been waiting for the grand opening so we could try it out and we were not disappointed. We ordered the Guacamole Bacon burger for her and the Patty Melt for myself. The orders came with fries and medium drinks.

The burgers were fantastic and were worth the wait. The fries were cooked perfectly and just the way I like them. We will be back so many times in the future they will know us by name!

The staff was great, nice and friendly. The service for their first order was fantastic, fast and efficient.

Just wow! I haven’t been to fast food in years. Grand opening month or so ago. Went here last night with family and was greeted with flies and a slight sour smell. Waited 20 mins at an uncleaned table (never saw an employee cleaning them while I was there) to get a lukewarm burger that I couldn’t take more than 2 bites out of because I was afraid I would get sick. New floors a month ago were already unsanitary. None of the workers had smiles on their faces. I could keep going but basically it was bad enough I had to write a review. Me and my family will not be back.
