Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

Very disappointing experience at the Whataburger location. Every single time I order, something in my order is wrong. I pay for a large and receive a smaller size, and when I request extra sauce—even offering to pay for it—I never receive it. It has become a consistent issue, not a one-time mistake. Attention to orders and basic customer service here really needs improvement.

This is what they call mustard, ketchup, onion, with cheese, And their fries are okay… Not beefy like McDonald’s. And not potatoey like Burger King. Also when I asked for a fist full of ketchup. They gave me three packets.

The food is good. No problems with that. However the service is God awful. I waited at the window for maybe 7-10 minutes before being greeted. And I wasn’t even greeted, the kid just opened the window and stuck the food out for me to take. And the funny part is, he didn’t even realize that he hadn’t taken my payment. I had to remind him that I needed to pay for the food. I work at Culver’s, and if we performed that poorly with our service, we would get fired on the spot.

Nostalgia purposes… Tried a few times to eat here but it was always super busy. Seems to have died down a little. Overall, food quality is on par with McDonalds. Fries were not good. Texas toast was soggy. Hamburger was decent. Likely won’t be going back. Five guys or Culver’s is way better!

This place was in bad shape Sunday afternoon when we were there. The photos won’t do it justice. The floors felt like the fry grease had been dumped on the floor, there was urine all over the bathroom floor, trash everywhere. They were out of straws and large lids – I asked for those. Ryan W was doing the best he could, he didn’t have a chance with as filthy was the place was. I think he was the only one there working, kudos to him. Ryan needs a raise. His manager was walking outside on her phone the whole time it took 25 minutes for us to get out food. Three items were missing from our order. I love Whataburger, and dine there when we are in the area, but this was bad and gross.

I don’t eat fast food very often, and if I do Whataburger isn’t on the top of the list. After this visit that might change. Excellent service from Terrill. Very kind and helpful with our coupon we had. Food was hot, and relatively fast.

Every table was dirty either underneath, on chair or on the table. My chicken was overcooked and not what I usually get. They forgot to give us drink cups for 4 meals. My wife and daughter slipped on the floor grease but thankfully didn’t fall. Not up to my expectations.

I originally gave them a negative review solely based on the service, but I’m updating my review as the corporate office reached out to apologize for the situation. It meant a lot to me because it’s been my experience in life that complaints go nowhere, so i don’t generally provide them. I’ll just quit giving you my money. That said, I want a place like whataburger to have my money cause the food is good, the service is good and you got what you’d hoped for when choosing to dine somewhere. Regardless of a rocky start, this place has a decent review and a return customer!

I’ve never had to wait 15 minutes for a coffee, I’ve also never had to leave a place before getting what I paid for . 15 total minutes at the drive through window and pulled forward is how much of my life I just wasted at Whataburger. After 5 minutes at the window which is longer than it should take they bring me my food and tell me to pull forward as the coffee isn’t ready. Ok fair enough but it’s 8am and I’ve already been here for 5 minutes why isn’t there coffee? So I pull up and 10 flipping minutes go by and not a peep out of this place. I can’t justify sitting there any longer I mean my god!! Never going back.
