For years, people have told me that I need to go to whataburger because they have the best burgers in the area. I finally went and I have to say that this was the WORSE burger I’ve ever had.
First, I had to wait for over 35 minutes for just a burger and shake. When I walked in, there were about 10 people standing in that tiny kitchen and only one person was actually doing anything. There were only 4 or 5 people waiting for food , so it wasn’t that busy.
Second, the patty on this burger looked like it was sitting under a heat lamp for hours before it was put on the bun, but it was cooked to order so I’m not sure how they ruined it so bad. The meat patty tasted like leather.
Third, the waiting area could use some cleaning and new paint. It just seemed really dirty.
I’ve been disappointed by a meal before, but no meal has ever actually made me angry. This one did. I think I was angry mostly because I had to wait so long for this trash.
I usually give a new place a second chance but this burger was so bad that there is no way I can ever eat there again.

This place has been around as long as I can remember. Went tonight for first time in years and simple, straightforward menu and simple good food. Cheeseburger all the way and crinkle fry’s. Can’t pass them up!!

I have been eating at this place for at least 40 years. The wait time can be long because they cook the food as ordered.
The only seating is picnic tables in the back of the parking lot. There is a covering above, but if the weather is unpleasant you will want to eat in your vehicle.
Definitely, stop and give them a try. It’s worth it.

Who doesn’t love what a burger from VA to Texas this place is a ten of ten for burgers!! What a burgers are the best because they have a home made feel but yet they’re not. I’m a person who loves burgers all the way with everything on it and to have a good slice of tomato and burgers that aren’t dry, to me the way the burgers are made and the atmosphere gives it a homemade feel. All of that gave me my overall experience, an impression that went all the way to Texas, and that pretty much summarizes my whole experience. Although the tomato is what stands out the most to me, and the most memorable. I’d have to say that in my overall experience the folks who made the burgers, fries, took my order and cashed me out were polite, kind, and handed me food right away, which gave me my overall impression of the visit which is the strongest impression in my opinion, it is great to have well made meals but it’s also really great to have people who have a good attitude, makes you want to come back. Also, for this specific parking lot you have to be careful it needs some work but lots of space.

I keep forgetting why the resteraunt is called What-A-Burger. When I do visit this establishment from a long hiatus I’m reminded once I bite into their burgers and then I say ” Man! What a Burger!! The burger and fries were very good. I could not wait to get home to eat the meal so I carefully ate it while I was driving home. Yes I know, it’s distracted driving but it was well worth it. Staff were very friendly and proffesional. Price was still reasonable and worth purchasing. Way to go staff and management much appreciated enjoying a good burger. Sorry, no photos to show because it was enjoyable devoured.

This place is a no nonsense burger joint, and it’s a treasure to all who have lived here a while. I grew up with their burgers and they always taste amazing, no big fat burgers you can’t even wrap your mouth around, they’re wide the way a burger should be and they’re incredibly delicious. It isn’t often I’m this far out to get them, but when I’m heading this direction you bet your boots I’m stopping there for some cheeseburgers all-the-way!

Not the same experience I remember from years past. Just subtle things, like the meat (not the same taste/texture), fries (not as potatoey and good even if slightly cold), and “feel” of the service/help. Still looks the same…. I guess it’s just progress !!! Don’t mind waiting for hot, cooked to order food, as long as I get it hot
