We had a good overall experience at Westward. The jerk chicken and blackened salmon were flavorful and well-cooked, and the raw oysters were fresh and delicious. The chocolate donut with hot sauce was surprisingly fiery, and the lemon pudding was a nice balance to end the meal.

The cocktails were a little strong for our taste, but still decent.

While the food and service were solid, the atmosphere kind of killed the vibe for us. Instead of the beautiful view we were hoping for, the space felt a bit dull and quiet. Also, there were no high chairs available, which made it a bit challenging since we were dining with a toddler.

Overall, it’s a decent place with good food and friendly service, but the ambiance and family-friendliness could use some improvement. Would still recommend, especially for the oysters and mains.

I came here for oysters — they were small but very sweet and fresh! During happy hour, they were $3 each, and I ordered 25 of them for two people. However, I didn’t like that they charged extra for all the sauces, even though the oysters were already $3 each. They should also mention that ketchup is charged separately for the potato fries — I thought it was included as a house condiment. By the way, the server was friendly and polite, and I appreciated their great service, so I still left an extra tip even though a 22% service charge was already included in the bill. The sunset view was beautiful and made the experience even better.

If i had to rate the food only, this would be a 5-star review. But for the overall experience, i can’t ignore the outrageous prices. Two starters, two main dishes, desert and two drinks should not cost north of $300. I know this is Seattle and you pay for the ambience and view, but our table was a shared community table inside without direct water view. In addition to the already high prices, a 22% service fee was included in the bill. We asked if this covers the tip and were told – no. So we had to leave a tip in addition to that fee. This should really be around $130-150 plus tax and fee, but we paid $350 for two people.
Otherwise, very good service, halibut was very good (but tiny for the price tag of $50). Both raw and grilled oysters were very good and so was the clams bowl.

Sunday brunch starts at 10 and parking fairly easy across the street. Known for views and paddlers coming across. Food is eclectic and plenty of seafood options. Portions smallish for the price, large plates are small. Note that many dishes can be spicy, with fresno and jalapenos. Service first thing is slow and coffee is lightly brewed. But not bad, reservations with credit card needed. Check out Gasworks brewing next door.

**Review specifically for the winter Shut Up Bobby’s popup**

We had friends visiting and wanted to take them to Westward the the epic view and amazing food, but didn’t know if we’d be able to get it (we’re used used to the summer time crowds!) – and we were pleasantly surprised to find they were doing a special popup restaurant concept during Westward’s slower months called “Shut Up Bobby’s”! We found parking right out front, a lot of open tables, so no wait at all.

It’s a very different experience and menu from the usual Westward, but same great view and vibes – and the food was incredible! 🙂 Slimmed down staff and menu – casual/seat yourself setup with a simple menu of chicken or salmon platters and sides to build your own tacos as well as fresh or baked oysters (think QR code on the table/order through your phone and they drop off at your table). But price points were really reasonable ($48 chicken platter with a couple sides and a half dozen oysters added on fed four of us) and the food was fantastic.

I’d highly recommend checking it out – we totally get how tough winter/slow months can be in the f&b industry and love the creative approach they took to keep the lights on and provide an amazing experience!

**fyi they said it’s the same culinary team, but offering this special, slimmed down menu to get through the slow winter – so you will definitely have a fantastic meal AND help support this gem of a restaurant! You can order online for pickup too!

This was the most wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. No mostly by locals if you wanna get some excellent oysters and enjoy a little bit of lake life. From here you can pull up on a boat or paddleboard in or of course drive like I did – parking is limited.

The servers are friendly and prompt, and the oysters were fresh and delicious. We tried several different options and had a few cocktails. They make an excellent Aperol Spritz. We enjoyed the seating right next to the dock in Adirondack chairs not the easiest to eat from but definitely great for enjoying the view.

Westward offers an unparalleled dining experience that perfectly encapsulates the sophisticated, laid-back spirit of the Pacific Northwest. Stunning location with panoramic views of the Seattle skyline.

The first time I went in February 2025, we had a pretty great experience (albeit expensive)! Four of us went for happy hour to celebrate a birthday. We got to pick the specific type of oysters we wanted and we had about a dozen each plus a couple of drinks each. The total bill was over $300, which seemed high for a happy hour, but we didn’t think twice about it since it was for a birthday.

The same group went again last week during the pop-up for Shut Up Bobby’s, and the experience was night and day. We had absolutely terrible service. We ordered on our phones (the only option at the time), and then waited a very long time. We couldn’t pick the type of oysters and when they were delivered we received next to no explanation about them. We also weren’t given mignonette?! The food from the pop-up was good (the only saving grace), but we were there for the oysters and were incredibly disappointed. They were also out of a ton of items. For this price, having such a lack luster experience is unacceptable. We will not be back.

First time at Westward for a birthday brunch over the holiday weekend. The outside seating and water views are great. I had the clam dip and crab roll which was amazing! They make the roll in house and it was almost like a croissant roll. Would highly recommend that one if you go for brunch. Excellent service all around as well.

We left very disappointed with our experience. The food portions were small for the price, the service was dismissive, and the charges felt excessive.

We ordered the baked oysters ($26) and were told they would be “very large 3 pieces,” but they were much smaller than expected (see photo). Bread was also $8, and when another server said it was complimentary, we accepted. Later, our main server removed the butter we still had, brought new bread, and added another $8 charge to our bill. When we pointed out the miscommunication, she simply said she would remove it without any apology.

On top of that, there is a 22% service charge. For the small amount of food we received, the total was over $100 per person. Definitely not worth it, and we won’t be returning.
