On Memorial Day we went for a drive on the lake and stumbled across The Otherside Grill. It was the new owners first day open.
Packed place with lake folk at Noon.
The best part was the service and server Brandy. She was funny, friendly and attentive.
One of the new owners came by for a chat. He made no beefs about them just getting started the Menu being small and the learning curb. He also mentioned keeping the prices affordable.
I had TackleBox Nachos for $9.00 ~ Husband had 2 meat barbecue and 2 sides for $13.00.
Both big portions. The Peach Cobbler and Ice Cream ~ seriously the best Cobbler ever!
I was surprised to see the Nachos were actually waffle fries smothered in Queso and chicken. I’m pretty sure the Queso was from a jar. Probably will not order again.
The Ribs and Barbecue Chicken was very tasty. Not fall off the bone ~ but they’re working on it.
All in all the food was good and the price was shockingly cheap.
We look forward to visiting again when they iron out some details and find their own niche.
Something we’ve learned is great service and outgoing servers make for a family atmosphere and a pleasant meal ~ worth hanging in there as things improve.

The new menu is great and the prices are very reasonable. The portions are very large. More than I usually want to eat when I’m out on the lake. However adults can order off the kids menu for a smaller burger which is perfect. It’s a steep walk up the ramp when coming in by water but it’s worth it. I do wish they had more cleats on the docks to tie to and there should be a hazard buoy at the end of the rock ledge coming in or someone is going to end up with some bad damage.

I have to say I love this place, and this is just a temporary review; due to it having new owners and menu as well as employees. I will go back after they’ve had time to get settled in a bit better. Everyone should try it out, because it was just probably a bad day. We all know how it is just starting out in a new place! My friend had the peach cobbler and loved it! Everything I wanted, they didn’t have, and I believe the waitress just needs more experience, she was very nice tho! I’m excited for this new venture and will definitely go back

For what they charge. The quality is not near closely even justified. All I can say is mediocre taste and quality of food. What you have is lack of choice in the area. With a business like this one. Completely reaming the obvious and deeply reaching in the pockets of its customers. Nothing here is worth the charge. It’s fair food on a good day. Tulsa and other cities are not that far away & you’ll get more. What you’ve got is the assumption of less is more. But those numbers add up per side, entree and such. The owner tends to be a bit of a creep. Not to mention the lack of consistency in taste tells me bad food & bad food equals food poisoning. For me it’s a definite no. Gordan Ramsay would definitely have a field day. The staff from what I’ve seen as well is treated horribly.

We’ve been coming to the Otherside for a few years. Last year the food was good, service was great and the beer was cold. The management always checked on how the food was, and thanked us for coming in.
Fast forward to this year. We were happy there were new owners and “management” and hopeful as this is our neighborhood restaurant. Here are some issues that threw red flags immediately.
1. They’re only accepting Venmo, cash, and cash app. Whether they’re doing this because of tax purposes or not, it’s weird. As a business owner, I can say it’s very easy to get a square processor for cards. Y’all are keeping customers away by not offering a better ease of bill pay at the end of the meal. We’ve also become aware of their financial practices of not paying waitstaff, or giving the waitresses the money we’ve allotted for our service. The waitresses were great! But hey, if the waitresses don’t see the Venmo than they don’t see their tips they deserve…
2. The food seems and tastes amateurish and the menu is confusing… just call them fries instead of floaters. It’s bizarre. The only thing we’ve had that was possible was the salad (and we’ve given it three times this year to see if the kinks would get worked out). On one visit we were told that there was no meat… so we only ordered beer and shared nachos. If you’re going- skip the nachos….The food has gone downhill horribly.
3. The “owners” are there with their kids taking up booths and watching the TVs playing loudly while dad is drinking with friends and mom is eating or hanging out (literally every visit this year) and we have yet to have one ask how the food was, or thank us for our patronage.
In end, it’s sad to see how downhill this place has gone when we were so hopeful for a good place on the north side of the lake. We’ll take our business to the Harbor Grill in Mannford and deal with the drive. At leas we know there the customers who aren’t friends with the owners are appreciated AND THE WAITRESSES ARE PAID THEIR WORTH.

The variety of food offerings was all delicious. The family servers were friendly, efficient & on top of that buffet, keeping it loaded & hot. We enjoyed our meal while overlooking the lake as pelicans & a variety of waterfowl flew in. We loved everything about our visit. Could only eat so much so brought pulled pork & brisket home with us.

Ordered the chicken tacos and BBQ baked beans on the side. Came with chips and salsa which had no flavor at all. Wanted the tacos with guac and sour cream but it wasn’t served that way. The BBQ baked beans tasted like they were straight from the can. The only redeeming quality was the server, she was nice as can be.

I googled the best place to eat in Cleveland Oklahoma and The Otherside came up and it was on the lake so we decided to give it a try. We sat down and the waitress informed us the only thing they had left was chicken and burgers they were out of everything else it was around 7:00 the supper crowd hasn’t show up yet…so we didn’t order we wanted the smoked meat that was on the menu. So we thought they would smoked meat a be ready for the lunch crowd the next day ! ha ha just chicken and burger so we did stay and eat lunch so yall call and make sure they have smoked meat if thats what you want. I know they are a new to the restaurant business hopefully they get it together ! The burgers were good!

The new management group has taken this revitalized gem and made it into a great little place to have drinks and delicious food. I didn’t hear any complaints from anyone in our party of 6. They even went above and beyond to make an off-menu item for our picky eater.
I sampled one of the signature cocktails off the drink menu and it was a tasty, well executed concoction. The new queso is definitely an improvement, and the plate of wings they brought out was bigger than expected. The entrees were all ample enough to feed growing boys and hangry women. We all had leftovers to take home along with the to-go deserts that came prepackaged in half pint Mason jars. Excellent service and food that’s better than most on the lake, so happy they are staying open all year now.
