Service is pretty quick, we went on a weekday morning so it wasn’t as busy as it gets on a weekend. The tables are fairly close to each other so it does get crowded and noisy, which is the usual ambiance for dim sum. The price of most dim sum dishes was about $10. Tea service is $1.60/pp.
Food was as good as I remembered, definitely one of the best in the greater Vancouver area. Siu mai is one of the best in the city, and their jumbo size dumplings are all very tasty.
Service was not bad a little better than your average Chinese standard service Decoration definitely.
Decor is well maintained, still look presentable.
Definitely will come back, but on a weekday
The interior is comfortable and clean, with a nice atmosphere, but the space is very cramped. The tea was fragrant and enjoyable. I ordered pu’er tea this time.
For food, the first dish that arrived was their so-called “special” beef brisket rice noodle roll. It was basically cheung fun with beef brisket, tendon, and tripe. The combination itself is great, and I initially wanted to rate this dish quite highly. However, the tripe had a slight off smell, as if it wasn’t cleaned thoroughly, which was a big drawback.
We also ordered the scallop shrimp dumplings. These were just average — the wrapper was a bit thick, and there was a slight sour note that we didn’t particularly enjoy. The deep-fried shrimp dumplings were better: the filling was decent and the dish felt more interesting overall.
Overall, the food is acceptable, and I’d come back if I were nearby. However, I wouldn’t go out of my way or wait in long lines again.
Note: it’s always busy especially on the weekends, so make resos!
Going on a weekday like Thursday etc is definitely better for seating and reserving a table days in advance is still recommended.
The ha gao and sui mai here are on the larger side and classic dimsum dishes I always enjoy, plus the beef rice roll. The only dimsum item they sorely miss is the fried taro puff/dumpling.
The service is often very good and the staff is nice and helpful if you need a recommendation based on what you like.
Price is pretty standard and will put you back from around $35-$45 per person depending how much you eat. Price is within range of all the better dimsum places our there.
