A Ruben and an apple fritter from west side makes for a terrific day. Super friendly staff. You can tell the staff cares about their service and quality. Will definitely make this my go to stop in Gallup.

First time here, but read many great reviews so we had to try. The donuts are warm and fresh with a great variety to choose from. Came back for lunch today, the turkey and avocado on white was out of this world. My wife got the smoked turkey dressed and said it was one of the best subs she ever had! Definitely be back for more! BTW, the staff are awesome, very friendly!

This place was phenomenal. We were driving back from a road trip to the grand canyon and were tired of fast food drive through. This place has good reviews and looked like something unique. We were in for a treat.

The decor is a pretty wild mix of old diner and random living room. Lots of things to look around at while they make your sandwich. I got a Reuben pastrami that was amazing. The bread was soft, it was full of meat, and the sauce was super flavorful. My kids got the avocado turkey and loved theirs too. Everyone was really nice and it was a perfect stop on our drive. Definitely hit this place up for a break from the usual highway fare!

While traveling from Denver to Phoenix on a long road trip, we stumbled upon Westend Donut & Deli for lunch—and what a hidden gem it turned out to be! The service was impressively quick, and the sandwiches were absolutely incredible. Packed with perfectly portioned, flavorful meats, and served on soft, warm bread toasted to perfection, every bite was a delight. The friendly and welcoming staff made the experience even better. If you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to stop by this deli—you won’t regret it!

What a great surprise! Donuts and sandwiches we only went because the reviews were high. We got to find out why… These sandwiches were great!! They make there bread on site… And it was really good. It was not crowded but there was a steady flow of people in and out for both sandwiches and donuts.
If your looking for a quick bite or a great sandwich I highly recommend!… And it’s family owned and operated!

A Hidden Gem in Gallup: Where Nostalgia Meets a Perfect Sandwich (and an Even Better Donut)

In a world of ever-changing food trends and overhyped eateries, there’s something deeply satisfying about stumbling upon a place that gets it right without the fuss. Tucked away in the heart of Gallup, this unassuming sandwich shop is a local institution—one of those rare finds that could easily be overlooked by a passerby but remains a beloved staple for those in the know.

Walking in, you’re immediately struck by the kind of old-school charm that feels like a step back to a simpler time. The atmosphere is steeped in nostalgia, from the well-worn counters to the comforting hum of conversation between regulars and the staff who know their orders by heart. It’s the kind of place where history lingers in the air—not in a manufactured way, but in the quiet authenticity of a shop that’s been feeding its community for years.

Sandwiches Done Right

The sandwiches here are everything they should be: fresh, thoughtfully made, and delicious in a way that makes you question why something so simple isn’t always this good. Whether it’s a classic turkey and Swiss or something heartier, each bite delivers that perfect balance of flavor and texture. The bread is soft yet sturdy, the ingredients taste like they were prepped with care, and there’s an unmistakable homemade quality that makes even the most familiar combinations feel like something special.

Despite the shop’s unassuming size, the operation runs like a well-oiled machine. The staff is warm, efficient, and impressively quick, juggling a steady stream of phone orders while keeping the in-store experience just as smooth. Even in the midday rush, there’s an ease to the service that speaks to years of practice, a quiet mastery of their craft.

Donuts Worth the Detour

But here’s the real secret: as good as the sandwiches are, the donuts might just be even better. This is the kind of old-fashioned donut case that belongs in a movie—lined with pillowy-soft, golden-brown treats that make it nearly impossible to choose just one.

The bear claws are a work of art, oversized and flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. The twist bars, nearly the length of a forearm, are a testament to the philosophy that bigger is indeed better—especially when they’re this light, airy, and perfectly glazed. Every donut here has that unmistakable homemade taste, the kind of deep-fried perfection that’s crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and just the right balance of rich and sweet. They’re the kind of pastries you tell yourself you’ll save for later, only to find yourself finishing before you even get to the car.

The Kind of Place You Don’t Forget

This is the kind of place that doesn’t need to chase trends or put on a show. It’s a slice of Gallup’s soul, a humble yet exceptional eatery that locals cherish and travelers are lucky to discover. If you’re passing through, do yourself a favor—stop in, grab a sandwich, and, most importantly, don’t leave without a donut (or three). It’s the kind of food that sticks with you long after the last bite, reminding you that sometimes, the best meals come from the most unexpected places.

This is one of my favorite places we’ve been in a long time. The kitchen was impressively clean. The sandwiches were delicious and filling, we split the 12” cappicola on white (they make their own bread and you can tell), and the donuts were honestly probably the best donuts I’ve ever had. Their coffee was also perfect. My husband got the apple fritter and I got a chocolate twist, and then we ended up ordering more to go. The two men working were both very nice as well. If you’re in the area definitely give this place a try, I will be looking forward to our next visit!

Absolutely amazing sandwiches, 2nd time here and they are consistent with the food and quality ingredients. And being open 24hrs was amazing! Also 2nd time trying the donuts and I’d have to say to pass on these, stick to the sandwiches. The staff are also great and helpful.
Who would’ve thought Gallup would have such great restaurants.
