First time here and I WILL BE BACK!!!! Pit turkey sandwich and NC BBQ sandwich – both piled high and extremely tasty!!!! Oh the fries are to die for too as well as the baked beans. I highly recommend West River Pit!! Excellent customer service and staff is very personable, respectable, and accommodating to specific dietary needs. I fully enjoyed this and I normally don’t write reviews, but this place is worth it!!!!

Amazing BBQ and friendly service. We’re new to town so they gave us a free sample of all their meats. Turkey is usually kind of boring, but theirs was amazing. I’m tempted to get it weekly to make lunch sandwiches. The pulled pork sandwich is simply perfect. The beans are amazing. Mac and cheese is standard/good. Chocolate chip cookies are also amazing. Highly recommended place.

My family has been to West River Pit many times now always having a great experience! While I love everything they have my new favorite is a pulled pork with turkey sandwich! If you are local there is only one place to compare West River to and after trying both the turkey and pulled pork from both I can honestly say if you are anywhere close to Deale go to West River! You will also get enough meat to have lunch for the next day.
Went by today and found them to be closed…. It would definitely be helpful to know that via the website or google before driving 30 min each way….

Absolutely delicious! We had the pit ham and the open faced pit beef with fries for lunch. French onion dip with their kettle chips are also a must!

Just had the ribs. They were fantastic!a perfect blend of spices. I agree with the pit master on choice of bbq sauce. Its the middle one on the counter. Im sorry i forget the name.

Had the beef stew today and cornbread. Stew is a red tomato base not thick brown gravy. But it was delicious beef chunks, Carrots, green beans, corn & potatoes were very tender. Broth tastes like Maryland crab soup, it was tasty. Corn bread a little bland for my taste. It’s plain, has no cheese, jalapeños or honey mixed in. Once I warmed it up & added butter it was ok.

Best BBQ around this area. Friendly staff and killer food. I’ve had many of their sandwiches over the past two years but for Super Bowl Sunday we pre-ordered their sweet chili wings and they weee absolutely delicious. Winning. Keep it up west river pit.

! 1st time there and it won’t be our last. All the food we had was fantastic with a homemade taste and generous portions. We had beef sliders, pork BBQ, potatoe salad, coleslaw, and fries (that didn’t make it home, so good). The customer service was on point!
