I was heading to the Pink Stallion out the end of Clayton road to drop off a big box of strap-on thingamabobs to the Lady’s Auxiliary for their annual Gathering of She Bears, when I passed by the West Coast Sourdough Delicatessen. What luck! I whipped it on in faster than big Mabel Hatley in a sorority full of Georgia Peaches!
I had the Turkey sub, and it was Spectacular! 5 stars and worthy of a two hour drive. ☆☆☆☆☆

Visited Monday 2/9 around 3:20 PM with my father, who has a medical condition that makes it very difficult for him to walk. Asked to use the restroom and was told I had to buy something first. No problem I made a purchase.

The employee then walked away without giving me the bathroom code. Her attitude was dismissive and unwelcoming. I had to chase her down and ask again while my elderly father stood waiting. When I asked for the manager or owner’s contact information, she refused and said she’s “not obligated” to share it.

For context, California law requires restaurants with on-site dining to provide restroom access to paying customers. I complied with the policy, paid, and was still denied basic courtesy.

Corporate has been contacted with the date, time, and details of this interaction.

My first time ever eating here. I placed an
order fo pick-up at 11:45 AM. When i arrived the placed was locked up, no staff in site, and my bag of food was tied to the outside of the door handle just hanging there. I was so upset but couldn’t complain to anyone. This violates so many health codes with leaving food outside for idk how long. My sandwich was a veggie one and all i tasted was carrots. I wrote in to complain and asked for a refund and they have yet to get back to me. It’s been weeks. Do not waste your time and money going here.

Visiting here in Walnut Creek, Ca. Famished after our 7 hr drive up. We ordered sandwiches from West Coast Sourdough. Great tasting sandwich. The sourdough bread is fresh and probably one of the best tasting I’ve had in a long time. The food quality is a 5 star by far. However, be prepared to pay the additional 18% charge. A lot of restaurants and dining areas in and around the bay area charge what is called “doing business in the frisco area” fee. This helps businesses offset there cost to be able to afford to have a business here. Crazy. I know.

Searched for a gluten free option near me and discovered this sandwich shop. Although I drive past this shopping center often, I have never seen its sign.

Clean and appealing atmosphere, great sandwich choices, and thankful for a gluten free option. Definitely making this a regular spot when in the area.

Had a fantastic sandwich here today! Prices are very reasonable especially for the high quality. The bread was so delicious that I don’t think you could go wrong with any choice! Service is super friendly and store was super clean. Will definitely be back.

I work close by and a number of my coworkers and I head there fairly often. Stopped by last week and this was what I saw…

Update 9/26: it looks like there was a fire there, as I noticed sign on the door to that effect this morning.

New review: Last time I went I stood at the counter for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. Then one worker said “it’s going to be about ten minutes before we take your order.” He motioned to all the orders they had to make. I believe they were online orders. They should not just prioritize online orders and ignore the in person customer.
If they are busy, they should hire another staff member and not provide bad customer service! How stupid.
The goal is to bring in as much business as possible but you have to be prepared to accommodate more business!
They need more staff.
I got mad and left and have not been back.

Previous review: They make good sandwiches!
Good meats and cheeses.
Good proportioned sandwich.
Great bread!
Good toppings.
They put too much spreads. I have to always say “light” mustard, light cranberry etc..
They are fairly busy. I think they get a fair number of takeout orders.
They need another worker!!
Customer service is very important!
The cashier has to not touch the cash register then touch food!!!
Sanitation has to be the most important thing!
Thank you
You are appreciated
Keep up the good work.
