West Coast Soup & Sandwiches was excellent. Got the clam chowder cup, Greek salad, and the tomato bisque in a sourdough bread bowl, and the bread truly stole the show. The sourdough was as fresh as it gets — warm, crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, and 100% worth it. Honestly, I’d come back just for the bread alone.
It’s a great spot to get soup, salad, and a sandwich and have a mini date.
Both soups were absolutely delicious and comforting, especially paired with that incredible sourdough. The Greek salad was phenomenal as well; it could use a little more toppings and pepperoncinis, but it was still very satisfying.
The customer service was excellent as well. I did not catch his name, but as I ate outside, I returned to refill my drink and the gentleman working there asked how everything was and how I liked it and had a small conversation with me. Everyone there is so welcoming and fantastic. Definitely my new favorite spot.
Pricing is fair for the quality, even if it’s slightly on the higher side given the economy. Overall, this place seriously reminded me of being in San Francisco. Highly recommend — especially if you love fresh, authentic sourdough.

Disclaimer: we waited in line for free sandwiches. However we paid for bacon/avocado and soup.
Daughter really enjoyed her turkey sandwich, absolutely loved the bread.
Wife loved the turkey pesto, said she’ll definitely return.
I got the turkey and added the bacon/avocado. The bread is fantastic. Nice crunch with that soft delicious inside. Turkey was juicy and tender. The avocado was fresh and flavorful. The bacon was a bit of a let down with the small amount and lack of flavor. Overall I did enjoy the sandwich but I may order something different and skip the bacon next time.
We also tried the broccoli and cheese soup which was nice and warm and cheesy. Some solid broccoli chunks too. Would order again if we come on a Saturday.
I also have to say everyone was nice and helpful and it was a Busy day considering it was the free sub day for the first 200 people. But Charanjot was so nice and caring. Always checking in on our during the wait. Brought us water and even cookies. She was wonderful.

Drive or run, don’t just walk to West Coast Sourdough in Chico. I had a Hot Pastrami on Marble Rye and it was fantastic. In fact this place served the best sandwich Ive ever had. That coupled in with their top notch service, that had my sandwich made in a matter of minutes, and their cozy, and modern decor have left quite the impression on this satisfied customer. Ordered chicken pesto & cranberry turkey sub, with a side of fresh baked sourdough bread hot out of the oven!
Pesto was warm with the house sauce. Delicious!

Came here for the first time and had their Reuben sandwich. It was good and I’ll be back to try other things. The large sandwich would probably be enough to feed two of us. A little pricey with the soda and chips, but the quality was good.

The moment I walked in I was greeted by friendly faces and smiles. They have a larger menu above the counter that explains items but the little handheld menus show an outlined step by step process of how to order your sandwich. Quality of ingredients was amazing. The sandwich was very flavorful. I ordered a hot Pastrami and Swiss with the house sauce, lettuce, and peppercinis. Decor was fabulous and staff were very helpful. The negatives were minor but still matter. My only issues were time of service. When I walked it was not busy yet my sandwich took about 12-15 minutes to make and serve. The Last is more criticism but I was kindof hoping for a little more meat, however, this is the case for most sandwich shops nowadays so take those how you want. All in all I enjoyed everything. Not perfect but I have to nitpick if im a totally thorough reviewer. Definitely recommend to try for lunch sometime.

Went to the Grand Opening this morning!! My hot pastrami sandwich is delicious!! The sourdough bread is so fresh tasting!! Definitely think you should give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Glad I got there early to get my free 6″ sandwich l. Will be going back here for my sandwiches!

I had been wanting to try this place for a while because of the high rating (4.8). I went on my lunch break today and did not think to order ahead because I work nearby. Ordered a hot pastrami with $2 of extra meat. $20.55 total after $2.51 tip. It took 34 minutes from the time printed on my receipt to the time I got the sandwich. I understand it’s busy at lunch time, but that is a very long time to make a sando.
They should say on their website/menu that it may take over 30 minutes to get your food, so if you need to be anywhere soon, you will definitely have to order ahead of time if you want to make it to where you need to be on time. The guy who handed my sando to me was apologetic, which I appreciate, but it doesn’t change the fact that I had to take an extra 15 minutes for my lunch break. Also, I ordered extra meat, but the standard amount of meat must be tiny because there is definitely not a lot of meat on this one. See photo.
A coupon for a free sando would get me back in the door, but as of now, I don’t intend on going back. I can get a better hot pastrami at Chico Locker and Sausage or Spiteri’s for a much lower price. The meat locker’s pastrami is the best in town, and if you order extra meat at Spiteri’s, you won’t be disappointed in the amount you get.
