We stopped for lunch on a Wednesday. This place was recommended to us by a local we met earlier in the day. It looks like a sports bar. There is Tallmadge sports memorabilia on the walls. They have a nice bar area. It wasn’t crowded. We were escorted to the seating area around the corner where there are booths. They have about a dozen craft beers on tap. They have a lunch menu. I had the turkey club and my wife ordered a ham and cheddar on a croissant. You can get chips, fries, or baked beans. My wife opted for the beans while I had a side salad. My sandwich was more like a BLT with turkey and they did put on a lot of meat. My wife’s ham had plenty of meat as well. The food was served in about 15 minutes. I thought my sandwich was pretty good, bacon just a touch overdone. Food was basic but tasty. Our server was great, very friendly and attentive. I would try them again if in the area.

Buffalo Chicken flatbread was bomb Lobster Mac N Cheese was ok but wouldn’t recommend adding the shrimp, too bland for an additional $6 charge tbh. Also don’t order this if you dislike peas because the bowl flavor was very pea dominant
Speaking of pee, biggest downside, the Men’s room was absolutely disgusting. Reeked of Pee like R Kelly was partying in there and, to make matters worse, two floor heaters were blasting—so the warm urine odor was just fumigating me I nearly lost my appetite before eating my seafood. Something to consider.

Only the usual on tap but lots of cans and bottles. Good menu variety and the Hawaiian BBQ was tasty. Fries are super crispy. Given the number of speakers and TVs I’m glad I came mid afternoon. Last night we had the gyro, the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, and the wings. The gyro was fantastic! It was stuffed with meat, veggies, and a flavorful tzatziki sauce. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes, which was the special of the evening, was a personal size, top glazed meatloaf set in a mound of homemade mashed potatoes with a wonderful gravy. It was flavorful and filling. The wings were huge and juicy. We had the honey habanero sauce which was amazing. We highly recommend West Ave Tavern for a fantastic meal, drinks and atmosphere.

I’ve had two bad experiences with take-out here where my order was wrong. But today I decided to give West Ave one last chance in person. I was one of 5 people in the establishment and still waited to be seated as well as getting water. After ordering my food, I had to wait for the server to come back and tell me they sold out of it the night before. However, the final straw was the two patrons separately sitting at the bar with their dogs sitting on bar stools. I understand they weren’t in the kitchen, but I can’t get behind dogs sitting at bar level. Unfortunately for that reason, I won’t be back

We FINALLY made it to dinner at West Avenue Tavern and sadly were very disappointed. My husband ordered the Hot Nashville Chicken Sandwich and it was raw in the center. We understand this sometimes happens, however my classic burger wrap was also served cold . My husband chose to return the sandwich and order a meatless salad instead. Never have we dined at an establishment where we received low quality/ poorly prepared food and were charged full price— until our experience at West Avenue Tavern. The manager didn’t bother to stop by, no cost reduction to our bill was offered, nothing was formerly addressed. This was very concerning. We overheard the table next to us also had complaints. We paid full price for our substandard meals and left, deciding never to return. We’re so disappointed— as residents of Tallmadge, we strive to support local businesses. We hope West Avenue Tavern makes the necessary improvements to continue to stay in business.

Best burgers in town! My mom and I like to go here. She loves the onion rings and coffee. The people who work there are very kind and pleasant! Go- you won’t be sorry!

maybe we came on a bad day but service was slow, she was the only server but she definitelyfavored certain patrons we watched people get help as we sat drinkless and as it took half an hour to get our check. food was cold, wings were dry,spinach artichoke dip was like half cooked creamcheese, sat for a whole football qtr after asking for the check without getting it. wont be back

I was there for a get together so we were in the party room. I had a great time and got my first taste of the food. I had a burger and fries which were really good. Everyone said that the onion rings were great. I will have to try them next time.

The best wing night (get the garlic parm you won’t regret it) I’ve been to in the Summit County area. The rest of the food is just as good. It’s got a dive bar atmosphere but like a respectable dive bar? Idk if that makes sense but it’s the kind of dive bar you’d bring a first date to and she’d be impressed. Prices are very reasonable and I can’t talk them up enough. If you want a cool view, sit in the booths by the windows.
