Best kolaches(kolace) I’ve had. Dare to say, better than my grandma made back in Moravia, Czechia when I was little.

Love this place. Perfect mid-way stop between Houston and Austin. Bakery is just fantastic. Wide range. Their freshly baked bread is simply superb.

Today 12/30/2025 around 8 am my wife and I ordered some kalachis. The lady working the counter was already mean as hell. At the time we where the only people in the whole store. She was so rude. I have been stopping at this stop probably over 40 years and have never been treated this way. I will never stop at this store again. If she hates her job maybe she needs to find new one or she needs training to greet customers

This place is absolutely useless, I live in town and every time I went there to get a basic daily bakery item as bread they never have. So seriously what else you sell there? Either make more so don’t run out of bread at 11 -12 in the morning or stop falsely advertising your business so we don’t waste our time visiting your place and counting on such essential needs.

This place kind of caught us off guard as we didn’t realize it was part of the gas station complex they own. But SO glad we tried it out. Had seen it recommended on Daytripper. We each ordered a Reuben sandwich. It came with chips. We also tried the potato and ham soup – best we’ve ever had!! They had the most delicious small crackers they served with it – ranch flavored but with a little kick from red pepper flakes. A Texas thing I guess & yummy. The sandwiches were delicious! Tender meat, great bread made there. To cap it off, we tried a piece of their pie. Chocolate cream with meringue. Yum!!! (Forgot to get a pic we ate it so quick lol). Don’t be afraid of the gas station vibe – it is well worth a stop! Plenty of goodies to take home too: breads, kolaches, noodles & more. Nice outdoor seating too.

The bakery is inside a Shell Gas Station and store. The bakery was ok, but seemed a little doughy. The bigger Kolache was only filled on the ends that were visible and there was no filling in the middle at all.

We stopped by yesterday to get some baked goodies to take back to Rockport and was very disappointed. The two ladies at the bakery side took our order but were grouchy and acted like they didn’t want to be there and the cashier was just as bad. It was only 1:30 in the afternoon.

If you’re ever in La Grange or just passing through, this place is a must stop! One of the best kolache places in Texas. I’m so glad I stopped in and stocked up on kolaches for myself and family.
