Amazing people! So kind and patient when ordering. The lemonade and tea were amazing! Enjoyed the sweet potatoes and squash casserole were delicious. The chicken came out piping hot. It and the steak lack a little flavor to me and the mac and cheese was okay. The prices were very reasonable. There was a steady stream of regulars coming through as well.

Delicious soul food. Great place but they assume everyone has been there before. You select your meat, pay for your meal, grab a cup and select either lemonade. Water or semi sweet tea, then move to the window on your left and tell them what you meat you ordered and select your sides.
Seating is family style. Just sit down with whomever and where ever. Food was delicious.

We were visiting Athens and decided to google restaurants. When I saw the green building and pulled up on the premises it took me back to southern church days. Church anniversary days to be specific at the little old church built with center blocks. The aroma of the fried chicken and collard green drew me in!!!! I just knew we would not be disappointed. Our food was hot and fresh! The restaurant score card: 99A. This made for a perfect experience. Great to meet the owner and his staff; Mr. Weaver D., Dorothy, and Dominique. They were awesome! True soul food is a rarity these days, but Weaver D- Got It Right!

As a returning native, this was my 1st time experience. Mr. Dexter’s Sweet potato soufflé is BEST!!! Gobble up it all so no pictures from 12/9/25 .
Go and experience 40 years of history but his nephew/ Cedar Shoals 2002 classmate/ Atlanta based realtor Trey Cooper sell this riverfront property
