I love this place! Been coming here for about 2 years now and it’s unique supply of food is definitely in demand! It’s a uk food place which for an area close to me it’s definitely something we don’t have competition for. Their food is amazing def get the bangers and mash or the English brunch I’ve even heard that some prefer to order appetizers as a meal. If you haven’t given this place a chance, do, you won’t regret it!

Ordered the Wayside Fish and Chips which comes with three very large filets of fish. The flavor was good but both the fish and chips were overly greasy and the fries were quite soggy by the end of the meal. However, the fish had a good crunch which I enjoyed.

Another person ordered the bangers and mash which were also just “okay.” The mash could have had more flavor, but the rest of the dish tasted good.

The service was great and the atmosphere is quite nice!

What a great pub!! I thought I was back in Ireland!
The atmosphere is akin to the neighborhood pubs in Ireland.
The menu is quite diverse for a pub: burgers, sandwiches, pasta, wings, shepherds pie, bangers and mash, Scotch eggs, etc. All of it is delicious.
They boast a wide variety of Irish whiskeys, gins, Scotches, ales, and stouts.
The only thing that would’ve made it better was if they’d had Irish music playing. I would guess that they typically do, however we visited on a night that had a college football bowl game on.
Can’t wait to visit again.

I desperately want to give a rave review, but the food was nasty. Grocery store Shepard pie from the freezer section is better. The baked beans – a cheap canned product with zero improvement. Food was lukewarm.

The best part of our visit was the service! We were a large walkin group of about 11 and our waiter took great care of us. Food arrived hot and accurate. My guy ordered the Royal burger and it was delicious. I enjoyed the fish and chips. The menu here is expansive; I’ll have to come back to try more items. This evening the pub was full and there was a DJ playing some great tunes from the 70s & 80s. Overall a very cool vibe. My & husband live in Houston but accompanied family & friends who love this local pub. Our experience was good enough to encourage another visit and soon.

I really enjoyed my first visit to Wayside Pub!
We came in as a group of 6 and were seated at a larger table immediately on a busy Saturday night at about 6pm.
We ordered our beverages and were served straight away! Excellent beverage! Quite a liberal pour Twas very tasty!
I ordered the Guinness stew and was extremely happy with it. One of our party had the Reuben sandwich and could only eat half. As an appetizer we had the Gypsy fries which were eaten and gone before I could get a picture! LOL
The Mini Onion Rings were also a big hit.
Our server was very attentive and always had a genuine smile!
I’ll be back ad often as I can!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic experience at The Wayside Pub!

I recently visited with a large party, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we walked in, the cozy British pub atmosphere made us feel welcome. Our server was attentive, patient, and provided top-notch service despite our group size—they handled everything seamlessly and made sure everyone was happy.

Now, let’s talk about those fried pickles—absolutely devoured them! Perfectly crispy on the outside, tangy and delicious on the inside. I can’t recommend them enough!

The Wayside Pub nails the whole experience: great food, excellent service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you’re coming with a large group or just stopping by for a drink and appetizers, this place delivers. The staff clearly takes pride in what they do, and it shows.

If you’re in Lake Jackson, this is a must-visit spot. I’ll definitely be back soon!

I was extremely impressed by the service and the atmosphere of the pub. We went on St. Patrick’s Day, which meant the place was packed, and the service was still exceptional.

We got the Wayside Gypsy Fries, Fries Rueben Balls, and Hot Wings as appetizers. I enjoyed all three, but the Fried Rueben balls were an amalgamation/mash-up which could be a texture issue for some. My personal main dish was the Fisherman’s Platter. It was fantastic in every way. My table mates ordered the Tour of Britain. They were not impressed with all aspects of the dishes. Some commented the Shepard’s pie was runny. One did not care for the sausage (banger). It really comes down to personal taste and varies by person.
