UPDATE- I saw the owners response to my original review below this evening. And I most certainly am putting the correct review under the correct location. If there is a discrepancy, that is something the owner needs to correct with Google. Im willing to bet that if the review was positive, the response wouldve been a little more tasteful.
ORIGINAL REVIEW..During my visit on 2/14/26 in the early afternoon, the waitress responsible for serving food was visibly sick. She was wearing a mask, but it was only covering her bottom lip and jaw, not her nose or mouth properly. She was walking through the restaurant carrying a full tray of food while continuously coughing. On her way back to the kitchen after passing out all of the food (continuosly coughing), she was still coughing, this timr directly into her hands while attempting to adjust her mask.
It became even more alarming when she went into the kitchen, still in my view and had a full blown coughing spell for several minutes. She looked like dhe was in severe distress and her collragues passed her up as if they were used to it. Shortly after, she returned to serving guests without washing her hands or changing her mask.
By that time, the manager approached me, even though I requested to speak with him him as soon as I first saw what was happening. I expressed my concerns, as this poses a clear health and sanitation risk to patrons. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the issue, the manager continued to question me with random questiond and did not see anything wrong with the situation.
I chose to politely leave and take my business elsewhere. I understand that staffing can be challenging, but guest safety and basic sanitation standards should never be compromised. I can 100% guarantee that an illness was spread in the establishment yesterday, and patrons as well as colleagues are going to suffer as a result.
I hope the owner and upper management takes this feedback seriously and prioritizes the health of both customers and staff moving forward. Its unfortunate because I patronized the old building for many many years. After this experience, and lack of manager compassion, I will not go back…..

They recently moved from a location across the street. Everything seems to be the same except that they now require you to order at the counter prior to sitting down. I am not a big fan of that. They used to be a traditional restaurant where the waiter would go to your table and take your order. The food is VERY tasty. My wife will not go to any other restaurant for crawfish. She says this place has ruined all other crawfish restaurants. There is plenty of parking and the prices are about what you would expect. The atmosphere is fantastic! If like a little zydeco with your gumbo, this is the place to be.

I have been going to Hank’s on Hwy. 6 North since they opened at their first location. I have always enjoyed it and had a good experience. My wife and I went to their new location on Hwy. 6 last night (2/27/26) and it was very far removed from my previous visits. Now you order and pay when you walk in, then sit and wait for your meal, not terrible, but I asked what if I want another drink or something else later, and was told I would have to make another purchase at that time. I personally don’t like this format because it makes it awkward to do multiple purchases, also, I am a fairly generous tipper and would rather just do everything at the end of my meal. But here is where everything gets more frustrating. We had order appetizers and a bowl of gumbo for my wife’s meal, I had ordered 3lbs. Of crawfish for my meal. We had finished our appetizers and my wife her gumbo and waited 20 minutes for my meal, by that time I decided I didn’t want to continue and make my wife wait for me to get my food and eat it. At the same time I was getting up to get a refund on my order, it came to the table, I told the server never mind and wanted a refund , he said okay. It took the manager another 20 to do this. Still feeling frustrated but not mad at this point, the manger then came over and said, the kitchen must have gotten a little behind and these things happen. I’m not sure what a little behind means when the people that were in line in front of me and the ones after me all got there food. But the best response they could give me is that these things happen, not acceptable in my opinion. I still tipped around 15 dollars to the server as it wasn’t all their fault. But overall not very happy, especially since I had enjoyed them so much before. The good news is that I found a much better place ” The Kicking Crab ” had a great meal and experience there, and it is just down the road from Hank’s.

I never had an issue at their old location and always loved their crawfish, which is why this experience was so disappointing.
We went specifically for crawfish. When we walked in, no one mentioned they were out. We stood in line for quite a while trying to order and eventually gave up and went to the bar instead.
After finally ordering at the bar, the bartender told us we were the last ones to get crawfish for the night because they were almost out. Then, 20 minutes later, she came back and said they were actually out already. So we waited a long time just to order, then waited another 20 minutes only to be told they didn’t have the one thing we came for. Keep in mind… we only ordered 3 pounds!
Had we been told upfront that they were out, we would have completely understood and gone somewhere else. But being told we were the last to get it, and then later told they were out after all, felt incredibly frustrating and like a waste of time.
On top of that, the service at the bar was extremely slow. I had to ask multiple times for my drink.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience compared to the great experiences I’ve had at their previous location.

Hank’s Crawfish on Hwy 6 has been our go-to crawfish spot for the past 12 years, hands down our favorite. The flavor is always on point and consistent, which is why we keep coming back year after year.
We recently visited their new location after they moved down the road, and it did not disappoint. Everything we love about Hank’s is still the same—great crawfish, great seasoning, and a laid-back vibe. Just a heads up: they’re closed on Tuesdays. It shows correctly on Google, but not on Maps, so keep that in mind before heading out.
Our usual order is crawfish (mild) with garlic, and it never misses. Simple, flavorful, and done right.

Always enjoy the flavor of the crawfish. The new location did not enjoy that you have to order up front the service was bad, only had our server come to the table once. It does help not ordering more beer then you need because if you want a refill you have to get in line at the bar to order your drink.

So visited this establishment yesterday as for the crawfish I have nothing to say but the boiled shrimp on the other hand not only was they 15ib for 9 shrimp yet they was large but over cooked ain’t no way you are supposed to fight an have to peel the meat off the shell. So I sent them back an literally waited a while for them to come back out. Was almost done with my crawfish so figured I would just take my shrimp to go only to get home a they was overcooked yet again. Called an spoke with what he say he was the general manager only for him to be argumentative an tell me I needed to bring the shrimp back or the recipe well the purchase is on my phone the recipe got messed up on the table so was left behind then goes to tell me he is the highest person I could speak with an there was no one else an tells me to go on the website no corporate number I could talk to the owners if this is the way customers are handled I will never return to this establishment again. Because the customer service of this GM was the absolute worse. Definitely needs to find some customer service because it’s not there. I don’t live down the street to go an bring some damn shrimp back but definitely wanted it to be known because I mean $15 for 9 shrimp that was not even enjoyable is kinda cringe.

I’m new to Houston so visted here because a couple of local friends told me to try here. Walked in was greeted immediately the young man was taking my order just fine , then a young lady moved him out the way abruptly to take over to be sure he charged me cause I asked to try the spicier sauce on the side (75cents) (which I had to ask she wasn’t going to tell me) cause it’s my first time I’m thinking that wouldn’t be a charge, Then she proceeded to tell me it’s MANDATORY THAT I PURCHASE A MINIMUM OF 2lbs on already over priced crawfish (11.99) Cajun fries( $7) , Which I found fishy because the young lady who told me about the place only got a lb and the young man only put lb in at first when he was taking my order I also ordered a drink which changed 5 times due to the liquor not being available. I proceeded to my seat I ordered 2lbs medium a drink and some Cajun fries $40.48 . The waiter that help me outside was so nice and helpful . I don’t know his name but believe he was Hispanic with a small ponytail. The food was ok definitely spicy not my favorite flavor was on the inside but more spicy than flavorful . Probably won’t be back . I forced myself to eat the whole 2lbs I wasn’t that hungry but wanted to try them to wait out traffic . That one server or if she’s the manger rub me the wrong way . Like she money hungry or desperate for customers . She was overly aggressive and demanding .

What started off an enjoyable day with family turn into a complete annoyance due to this dining experience. The manager supreme was attitude was extremely distasteful. The waiter was slow and forgetful. The shrimp was over cooked and due to the managers behavior I was uncomfortable asking for a correction. I am truly disappointed from this experience
