I’ve given this place far too many chances, and today was the last straw. I ordered the $8 box deal for pickup at 3:30 pm. I arrived at 3:45 and the order wasn’t ready—fine, things happen. I didn’t receive my food until 4:05 pm.
When I finally got the order, it was handed to me in the smallest brown bag I’ve ever seen. I asked the staff if everything was included and was told yes. I still checked the bag and immediately noticed the sauce was missing (which has happened multiple times before). I was in a rush and didn’t inspect everything closely at the counter.
Once I left and opened the bag to eat, it was worse. The tenders were burnt, there were only five tots, and there was no container at all—the food was just tossed directly into the bag. The bag was completely soaked in grease. It honestly felt like being handed leftovers in a doggy bag.
The staff working there were polite, but what makes this even more embarrassing is that I saw the owner/manager pack the order herself. That level of carelessness is unacceptable. They are definitely taking shortcuts and it’s evident in the quantity and quality of the food.
This place is a disgrace, and I’m done giving them any more chances.

Stopped by Wayback Burgers for an early Sunday lunch, and wow, what a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was awesome—clean, inviting, and perfect for a laid-back meal. The staff was excellent, super friendly, and made us feel right at home.
The food? Absolutely spot on. The burgers, cooked to order on a flat top, reminded me of a Smashburger but with that extra made-to-order freshness. Every topping was perfect, and the burger itself was juicy and flavorful. The fries and tater tots were pure perfection—crispy on the outside, warm and tender inside. The value here is unbeatable for the quality and portion size.
If you’re looking for a great burger joint with top-notch food and a welcoming vibe, Wayback Burgers is the place to go. Highly recommend!
I see negative reviews about takeout or delivery. IMO the only way to judge a burger/service is by dining in and partaking fresh off the flat top.

Wayback Burgers in Leander was a letdown. I wanted a break from the usual McD’s or Sonic and figured I’d try this spot. First red flag, had to download an app and hand over way too much personal info just to order. Lunch was a tea, double cheeseburger, and fries. Total? Twenty-six bucks. At that price, I expected something next-level.
When I showed up, the place was dead. No one at the counter. One guy glued to his phone, another hollered from the kitchen and tossed me my bag. No welcome, no thanks, no vibe at all. The food? Burger was meh, honestly below Sonic. Fries were forgettable, and even though I picked ketchup in the app, none came with the order. Only win was the iced tea.
Overall, overpriced, zero hospitality, and an average burger at best. Not worth the hype, or the app download.

Went here one evening craving a good burger and fries. Got my order food wasn’t bad. The wait was way too long food was definitely not worth the $18 I spent. Got home with my food got about halfway through my fries and there was a hair, a long dark hair. It was too late to go back so I went back the following day and showed them the pictures and the food (I kept it so they could see for themselves.) They said there was nothing they could do and apologized and that was it. I’ve been reading these reviews and the company responses, they aren’t doing anything to appease their unsatisfied customers and that’s terrible. I’ll never go back to another wayback burger. Sorry not sorry

Wayback Burgers in Leander, Texas is easily my new go-to burger spot. The burger was better than any fast-food option around—juicy, cooked right, and clearly made with care.

I’m not sure I understand how they can be blamed for people’s delivery drivers being slow. That’s kinda ridiculous.

Paid for delivery for 6 meals but they forgot our drinks. When we called about them forgetting our drinks they told us that we would have to pick it up ourselves even after paying their delivery fee. They didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience.. When we went to pick up our drinks they gave us the cups and told us we would have to make our own drinks.They weren’t even busy for them to have such a horrible attitude about not even having our drinks ready for us to pick up. Itt was the worst customer service EVER!!!

Yikes… waited 40 minutes for my food, once I got, burgers were cold, undercooked and onion rings were cold and I counted 6 small rings for $5.29. The kids meal (2 tenders and fries) was way overpriced for the amount and size ($7.59) our burger orders were wrong as well. I know they just opened but evidently online orders get pushed to the front. Fries were great, milkshakes great… bacon burger was smaller then the classic. We tried it, won’t be back.

Food was average, taste and quality aligns with Culver’s. The service at the counter was at best, socially awkward and under informed. The price at this restaurant is absolutely ridiculous. $17 per person (burgers and fries), and two of us had water. A total of $77 for a family of four. The coup de grâce was when the socially awkward employee spun the screen around asking for a tip (well within his view). This is always amazing because it enables me to pay your employees after enduring absurdly inflated prices for your product. I also enjoyed bussing my own table as part of the value proposition.

Came here for lunch since I was in the area, the staff seemed friendly and the food was surprisingly good and you get a good amount of food for the price. The burger was fresh and the tots were hot and crispy. will definitely recommend if you want a good quality burger. Much better than all the chain fast food places around!
