The place is cool to be in. I love the decor. I didnt like that they don’t have a menu to read with descriptions of the drinks. The bartender just told us to ask him, but the place was busy and it seemed like I would be rude to ask a lot of questions. Just print menus if you’re going to offer 50 drinks. Also, the Paloma I had was not good. It needed something. Not just the fact that it seemed to lack alcohol in it. We had 6 drinks between three of us. None of us were wowed, but we still had fun. It’s a nice addition to Ypsi, and one of the better versions of businesses at this address. Plan on spending $30 on two drinks.

This may be a hot take but I think this is the best cocktail bar in the AA/Ypsi area. Huge cocktail menu that keeps you coming back. They do the classics well and have plenty of originals. Glassware is fantastic without all the frills of some of the other places. The wall memoribilia is also amazing.

Vibe is lively and cozy. Cocktails are fantastic – the Trinidad Sour was my favorite.

If you want draft beer, go somewhere else, though they do have a great beer selection. The drinks aren’t cheap, but they use quality ingredients (they juice daily), and still better priced than what you would find in A2 for the same quality.
Bottom line: if you want great drinks and an amazing staff, this is your place. Best bar in Ypsi. Plus it’s always amusing to see how short Andy’s (the owner) shorts are in the summer.

There were no purple flowers or umbrellas in the Hawaiian cocktail. The glass was packed with ice. There was hardly any liquid. I expected more for $13. The flavor was good. I couldn’t taste any alcohol. They have a canned heat candle which looks nice but the smell interferes with the taste of the drink. They didn’t have menus. The drinks were on a board high up on the wall in the back corner. I like dim lighting in a bar but it was dark in there. Best thing about it was the 70’s rock music playing. The 3 employees were stoic. The place was busy. Would be an ok place to meet up for a beer. Don’t expect fancy Hawaiian cocktails.

I had a wonderful first-time experience here today. I love the concept: Craft cocktails + vinyl record shop. The signature craft cocktails are exquisitely made, and as of November 2020, most appear to be of the tiki variety. Be sure to check out the chalkboard for special drinks not in the standard menu. My favorite was served in a coconut milk can, and it’s called a Bali Hai… lots of tropical flavors and yet, quite boozy, but well balanced. I thought the house-made popcorn varieties were delicious. The ambiance is nice, and we were able to sit outdoors on a 70 degree afternoon in November. You can’t beat that. Next time I’ll grab an ice cream cocktail. Check it out, you’ll love it.

Great atmosphere. Love the retro videos they show on the TV. Servers are very cool. Just a chill place to have a drink and enjoy the evening. Bonus that they are open until 2a all week.

$14 cocktails during happy hour you get $2 off cocktails. Very creative cocktails but slightly over priced. A few beer options and wine. Staff are very kind and welcoming! The bar sells vinyl and has comfy seat options. No food sold here

Holy smokes the Wax Bar is a great place. It seemed rather busy when we went, and we had just had dinner Bellflower and thought we would try out the Wax Bar.
We were lucky that the people standing at the bar ordering dropped the ball, and didn’t want to sit atan empty chair, and then moments later, the couple next to the chair left, so I sat in one of those!
Cocktails are made expertly, and deliciously. Super cool vibe, simple menu, but exotic flavors.
We will be back!
