I have been ordering food from different Wawa locations for decades; in addition, my daughter previously worked at one. We were super disappointed in the food we picked up this afternoon. The fries were burnt and dried out inside, my daughter ordered caramelized onions on her sandwich but was given the skins of onions only (either that or they were so overcooked that they were hard), I asked for the peppers to be on the side but were in the sandwich, only the middle of my sandwich had honey hot sauce on it (about half of the sandwich – the rest was dry), and I asked for some of my condiments to be on the side but they were missing. Sorry Wawa…I will have to find a different carryout place.

Wawa has officially made it to the Valley and opened on August 15th, 2025 at 8 a.m. The opening ceremony was nice and many attended from all around. The store itself is smaller than many other locations I have been too, but still manages to offer the necessities. They have 2 self-checkout lines, 2 attendant lines, 3-4 made-to-order kiosk, coffee (hot or cold) and drink stations, heated pre-made goods, lottery machines, mobile pick-up area, and a small convenience side including alcohol and tobacco. This location is very nice and clean and what staff I interacted with was very nice. The pre-made sausage croissant I had picked up for my husband was burnt and we did end up throwing it away. I still give them 5 stars this being a new location and they are still adjusting – plus it could be the heater itself that overheated the croissant. There is parking directly out front and around the left side (if you’re facing the building). There are several gas pump stations as well. I think the this Wawa location is great for the simple fact, you have the interstate near by but more importantly the hospital. The night staff doesn’t have any cafe to go to in order to get a snack or meal – so this offers them more options. Overall, I’m really glad that Wawa has made it nearby us.

11/7/25 My first experience at this new Wawa was quite nice. The store had everything I needed plus reg. gas was just $2.57!!!
Looking forward to our new Wawa in Lexington VA soon that will make Lexington’s gas prices drop to where it should be.

only been twice so far, the food was good, the pumpkin spice latte was delicious, the wrap was a bit small no dressing but it was decent for the price. the gas price was cheap so you go the extra mile, traveling through to get the lower cost of gasoline. well done. thanks. clean restrooms, very busy location. early AM visit so i guess folks were getting to and from their weekend plans.

Update: I gave this place a second try 2 months after its grand opening in September. It is now November, and I was pleasantly surprised by how things had changed for the better. The food was delicious and was served with a smile. Great job on improving the response time as well. Compare this to my review from the day the store opened. The surprisingly poor food quality at the time and the high price! I was very disappointed by the seasoned French fries. Over
75% of the fries are overcooked and hard as a rock. But a little spicy for my taste, the burger, the cheeseburger. Tasted frozen, and yeah, it was not as good as it looks online. My wife’s sandwich was not very good. Left a lot to be desired. I don’t know if I should attribute it to new staffing. Not familiar with the equipment. Or lack of training at this point. But I’ll give it a few months to see if they improve. I don’t want to give it. A 0 stars because I am very happy that they relocated to the area here. But I think there’s considerable room to grow as far as customer service and quality of food really need to improve a lot for me to recommend it to others. On a positive note, the chocolate pull-apart was quite tasty .

My first experience, which will likely be my last, was disappointing because of being ridiculously overcharged. I bring my own cup into all convenience stores to get a soft drink refill. Most stores charge a nominal fee for that and some just wave me out the door, but at this new WaWa I was charged $2.34 and the clerk acted like she had no control over it. If WaWa has a drink refill policy, they should educate this clerk……if they do not, they should establish one. Anyone knows that stores make their money on the cups and that the profit margin is huge.

This place is very underwhelming. When you first walk in there’s just a weird open space, with everything else crammed into a corner. It’s overall small and not much to choose from. The food is lacking in pretty much every way possible. The garlic knots were bland and underdone. The cheese dip was okay, and made the knots somewhat tolerable to eat. The fries were unevenly cooked, but the majority of them were black/burnt. The ones that weren’t burnt had a decent flavor, but nothing to rave about. My husband said his burrito was also very bland despite having a lot of ingredients (steak burrito). I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since they just opened, but if this is the standard then yikes.

We usually love Wawa but this location left is hungry and disappointed. We ordered a rice and bean burrito that came out with NO RICE, and it was a remake after they first gave us a quesadilla instead. The fries were dry and only half full, and by the time they remade the burrito they were cold. I advise all to steer clear and probably just go to the sheetz down the road. Boooooo
