The best thing about the Alpenhorn is where it’s located and their milkshake selection. We ordered two burgers and three shakes, and we paid almost $43! The burgers were okay, and the shakes were good. But, being directly across the street from the State Park entrance, makes it nice and convenient if you’re hanging at the lake.

Great place to eat this end of the lake. They have mini golf, food, smoothies and shakes. Right across from the state park. Good parking in the shade.

The atmosphere is great; the sound of the stream nearby, the food is delicious, and tasty shakes. Try the Bear Mountain Burger!

Large outdoor seating area.. great place to meet up with friends & family! Staff is mostly young students, working for the summer and doing a great job. A natural creek runs by for your viewing pleasure! There is also a little putt putt course for the kids….Cost for dinner is lower than average for our area, which is always nice.

It’s just kind of “meh”. The food is greasy, as is to be expected, but not terrible. The location is pretty, but the building and seating are not exactly greatly taken care of, there is sort of a layer of grime on everything. The milkshakes are melting by the time you get them, but I feel like this is all to be expected when a gaggle of teenagers are working there on their summer break. Still stop by every summer though just because.

This place has really gone down hill. Only saving grace might be the price and being close to the river is nice. If you order a wrap with grilled chicken you will get some soggy fried substance that looks like it might be a chicken tender. Off flavor with it too. Might need to change fry oil. Burger was dry and bun was some pale dry thing. Fries were super seasoned could only eat 2 before running for water. I hope this place improves, it has potential.

I’ve been searching for this place for 3 decades. I was on a trip to Lake Chelan and we stopped here for lunch. The milkshake was easily the best I’d ever had…but it was fries that I’ll never forget. The view was awesome and I love the atmosphere, too…but those FRIES!
I’ll probably never make it out that way again, but I’ll be sure to stop at the Alpenhorn if I do. (If you’d like to whisper what seasoning you use, I’ll keep your secret!)

Quality is way down from last year. Granted it was opening weekend but… they’re probably should have been some quality control in place. Anybody who’s ever seen a sandwich wouldn’t have served that sandwich.
On the plus side. The manager was 100% helpful.
The food is almost always 4+ ⭐ at least.
For sure stop by for the huckleberry ice cream it’s amazing!!!

I have come every year for the past five ish years. Normally I love it, but this year was the worst experience I have ever had. My friend and I had to go up and make my order, three times. I work in food and know how this all works, and I also know that that is unacceptable. When I finally got my food, it wasn’t even all there. The chicken tenders I ordered didn’t have the coleslaw that was advertised with it. The fries were overcooked and under seasoned. The chicken was lackluster too. The people I were with also didn’t particularly enjoy what they got for the same sorts of reasons. My milkshake was pretty good, I’ll give them that, but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. Sad go see a favorite to so downhill.
