We ordered drinks and appetizers – lemon drop martini and margarita – cup of gumbo and crab cake. I enjoyed the crab cake especially the tartar sauce served with it and the lemon drop was delicious.
For mains, we both ordered the salmon and added mashed potatoes. The salmon was nicely cooked and we enjoyed the sides that came with it. The only downside was the wait, again, between our appetizer and main.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience despite the delays and would recommend this spot. If you’re eating here prior to a Bass Hall Performance – I would aim for 2 hours to be there.
The positives….the drinks were great. The bar tenders where great. Our waiter was great. My wife LOVED her oysters! But that’s the end of it.
I ordered the Valentines special Surf and Turf (filet minion and lobster). I requested medium cooked. The steak came out almost blue and gummy, far from even medium rare or I would have tried to choke it down. After waiting 5minutes for our waiter to come back, he sends over the manager to check the steak.( keep in mind, all other food on my plate is getting cold and im watching my wife eat dinner alone).
Manager says ill have them cook this a little longer for you. I then ask “your not bringing the same food back out are you?” Her reply was the cooks will do what the cooks do.
10min later they finally bring my food out. Guess what, they brought the same steak and lobster back out. The plate was so hot you couldn’t touch it. I honestly think they microwaved the plate and sent it back out. I was in shock that food left the kitchen, went to the table, then back to the kitchen where it was recooked. Isn’t that some kind of health code violation.
I explained to the waiter I was not eating a $70 dollar plate that had recooked steak and lobster that was now cooled then reheated and back to me. I couldn’t cut the lobster with a steak knife.
He took the plate away and asked if we wanted dessert?
I had fully expected the manager to atleast come over and attempt to salvage the situation. I saw the waiter talk to her and she just shook her head and walked off.
Had high hope for this place but let down severely and left hungry.
If your looking for oysters, go here, anything else id be nervous of there kitchen standards.
