Unfortunately it was not as good as our last visit the previous year on vacation – staff is SO awesome and attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is great! But the food was so different. They didn’t have yellow peppers I think so they put green peppers in my seafood pesto which wasn’t what I ordered, the seafood pasta with pesto i felt was risky already but it didn’t come out well. Scallops seemed frozen maybe? Shrimp were very overcooked almost inedible, pesto with no cream added at all does not mix with seafood well. The crab dip had no lumps in it all this time around and I so loved it last year! It was purely cream cheese it seemed this time like literally blended mush, not good! I will say the chicken tenders and fries were fine, deep frying something is not hard. The broccoli was also really good but the cheese that came with it was separated. The only thing we sent back was the “cheese potatoes” side? It looked, so bad we didn’t want it on the table while we ate.

First time at this restaurant and it was a good first impression. The atmosphere is great, our server was awesome. We had a big group and she kept up with no problem. I had the fish and chips and that was great. The fish and fries were nice and crispy. I also got the corn pudding and it’s a must try kind of side. I wasn’t sure what it was, but it didn’t disappoint. My wife ordered the Waterman’s trio with crab meat, shrimp, and scallops. All of the seafood was slightly overcooked and could have used more seasoning. It wasn’t terrible, but it could have been better for the price. There is so many more options The prime rib special looked very good as well. I will go back and try some other items. It is a little pricey, so plan on spending $20-30 per person not including drinks. If you use a credit, you will be charged a 3.5% surcharge. Bring cash if you have it. It’s worth giving it a try. Enjoy!

We just celebrated my birthday with dinner at Waterman’s Grill. The service was good and the setting was nice. We had the cheese fries with bacon for an appetizer. It was good. My husband ordered fried shrimp. The shrimp was delicious and so were the hush puppies. I ordered the flounder stuffed with crabcake. The flounder was overcooked and very dry. We probably will not be back. It’s too expensive for a so-so dinner.

As always, Waterman’s didn’t disappoint for tonight’s dinner. Ordered fish tacos (delicious), my favorite fried oyster sandwich (cooked perfectly), fried shrimp (always a favorite), a huge burger (a big hit), and a bowl of crab and broccoli soup. If I had a complaint at all, it would be that Waterman’s prices are way too high ($140).

We arrived in Edenton on our 6th day in NC. It surpassed all the superlatives we had heard, and our innkeeper, tour guide, and a local historian all separately recommended Waterman’s for dinner. So there was no doubt where we were going ! It was a Friday night, we had no reservations, but we arrived shortly after they opened at 4:30 and were seated right away at a great table. The service was great, the oysters superb. My crab cake was the best I’ve ever had, my wife enjoyed her broiled flounder immensely. The Gaelic Ale was great. I would recommend Waterman’s wholeheartedly if you’re in the area, we hope to return soon.

Wow…great place! We had the prime rib special and the fried shrimp. Everything was great including the sides (green beans, corn pudding, Cole slaw, and baked potatoes). Service was perfect.

This seemed to be a favorite for the locals (always a good sign). We were just passing through and wanted to stop somewhere for a good dinner. There was a line out the door before they even opened. We were greeted at the door with the waitresses gloating about how they were looking forward to tonight’s specials and immediately seated. The staff was personable, the food was delicious, and the service was quick. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced. 10/10 recommend Waterman’s Grill! The town is adorable too with local shops and museums. I will definitely return next time we are in the area.

This place was amazing. Incredible food for a really affordable price. I got a trough full of steamed crab, shrimp, and scallops while my wife got a crab cake the size of a Whopper. These came after a huge casserole dish of melty, cheesy, spinach and artichoke dip with great pita triangles. All for only $60.
